    Department of Justice and Equality Open meeting in Cork The Department of Justice and Equality is coordinating the preparation of Ireland's NationalReport on our domestic human rights situation for the United Nations Human Rights Council

    Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process.Irelands first review under the UPR process will take place on 6 October 2011.

    Irelands National Report must be submitted to the UN by Monday, 4 July 2011Consultation is a central part of the UPR process and vital to the drafting of the NationalReport. They are therefore holding a series of public consultation meetings around the

    country and are inviting members of the public, organisations and any interested party tocome along and take part in the discussion. The Cork meeting will take place from 7pm-

    10pm on Friday 27th May at the University College Cork in Boole 1:

    Your support is very much needed at this open meeting. Throughout the country, thesemeetings have been populated by strong ANTI LGBT rights groups.

    Congratulations to our very own famous community members Marian and Eilish who wereat the BAFTA awards last Sunday night. Eilish is the well -known Winnie in Mrs Browns Boys

    which was nominated after only two live shows for Best Situation Comedy.

    Marian plays a blinder with her organisational skills as floor/props manager for the theatreshows. Watch out for the second series later this year!

    Living my Life

    The Centre for HIV and Sexual Health are delighted to announcethe publication of a brand new resource that provides informationfor people who currently identify as trans or who are beginning to

    explore their gender identity. The booklet (Living My Life) uses photographic images alongsideuseful information for trans people and those that work with the

    trans community. An affirming, celebratory, empowering andinspiring resource. This resource has been developed by the Centrefor HIV and Sexual Health in partnership with TransBareAll and diva

    creative with funding from the Dept of Healths Pacesettersprogramme.

    LINC Events for Cork Pride 2011

    BBQ at LINC Friday 3 rd June at 6pm. Mixed Event AllWelcome. BYOB

    LINC will be Open to Everyone the week of Pride if anybody wants to pop in with their family and friends.

    We also will do Fun and Games at Late LINC onThursday the 2 nd of June from 3pm to 8pm.

    Book ClubWell its back. Over the womens fun weekend some members met up and have decided tomake the book club a regular feature once more. The first meeting will be here in LINC on

    Tuesday 7 th June at 7pm. The idea is people recommend a book to read and this is reviewedthe following month. This is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours each month in thecompany of some really interesting women who are also by all accounts a whole lotta fun!So for any more information e-mail [email protected] or ring Tina in LINC.

    Meet and Greet This is planned for 6.30 on Thursday 2 nd of June. Meet and Greet is especially for women whohave accessed LINC in recent weeks and who perhaps would like to meet a few more peopleahead of Pride which will be over the following few days. Its an opportunity to break someice and feel a bit more at home in the LINC and wider Gay community. If you areinterested in being on the meet and greet team then contact Tina for a chat. Tina will becontacting all newcomers in the next week or so to let you know details.

    Peer Support Groups

    Phoenix Youth Youth Group meet every Weds at 6pm to 8pm in LINC.

    They will be showcasing their Rap performance on Thursday the 2nd

    of June at The OtherPlace at 8pm for Cork Pride 2011.Best of Luck Phoenix we will be rooting for ye!!!

    Knickerbocker Glories This is a new group meeting monthly for various activities. The next activity will beThursday June 16 th . The group will meet here in LINC at 6pm. There will be a car pool toBlackrock Castle and a leisurely walk on the Blackrock to Rochestown walk. This takes about45 minutes each way. The nice thing about it is the fact that on one end you have Blackrock

    castle for coffee and on the other end Rochestown Inn for more coffee or even somethingstronger. Of course the women have planned a beautiful sunny summers evening so bringalong the children and the dogs if you want a nice evening out and about. For more detailsring Ann on 087 2920060

    Mna Mna ChoirNew members are joining all the time to the Mna Mna Choir so again a group which is goingfrom strength to strength.Nice way to spend a couple of hours on a Thursday evening from 8pm in LINC
