Beginning as a small herb plot in 2009, The Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm grew approxi-mately 23,000 pounds of sustaina-bly-managed produce during sum-mer 2010. On April 12th a small Circle K group went out to help with both weed pulling and mulching, in a volunteer effort to raise aspara-gus for Dining Services. After a sol-id two hours of work the assorted people had managed to weed and mulch an entire plot, having a load

of fun in the process.

Event Recap:

Circle K stepped up to the chal-

lenge on March 30th and helped

hide eggs for the local children.

Not only that, one of the Circle

K volunteers took it upon him-

self to dress up as the Easter

Bunny for the duration of the

event, and it got rather hot later

in the day. The children defi-

nitely seemed to enjoy them-

selves, and since the volunteers

got to share in some of the fun,

there were good times had all

around.

Fundraiser Bake Sales

Over the course of several weekends Circle K set up a variety of bake sales in the Main Street area, using both goods baked by members and later, grilled cheese crafted on the spot; with fairly good results. The sales went towards Relay For Life, and the people who came to help definitely put in a lot of hard work and effort; some volunteers even stayed up until 2 in the morning to help out.
