A Word From Warren

Boldly Go...into the Presence of God

The saddest people are those who have fear in their

hearts—not a healthy fear or respect of God, but a fear

of life and what it will bring to them. I read this story

recently and thought it had a great message for us all:

A little girl went to her grandmother’s farm

where they packed a lunch, saddled the horse and rode

off in search of a place for a picnic. They ate on the

edge of a stream, waded up to their knees and had one

fine day together. That night after dinner and a bath, the

grandmother read from the Bible before putting the girl

to bed. In the night, a storm with thunder, lightning and

heavy rain battered the house, scaring the little girl who

called out for her grandmother. Knowing there would

be no rest for the weary, the grandmother let the girl get

in her bed and turned out the lights. In the dark, the

grandmother heard a small voice say, “Nana, I can’t

see, is your face turned toward me?”

There are so many people out there who are afraid and

wonder if anyone hears their cries or if anyone is turned

toward them. They have no idea where God is in their

lives and see no evidence of His great love. I am here

today proclaiming that God is nearer than any of us can

imagine. His face is turned toward us and his ears are

attentive to our prayers. (1Peter 3:12) When we take our

knowledge of His presence, and His great love to others

by giving our testimony and show His love through our

actions, we help them to know that His face is turned

toward each of us. Can we truly say to Him, “Here am I.

Send me.”? (Isaiah 6:8)

Sharing His Love,

Warren
