Jackie Igleheart is stepping down from convening this bonspiel after organizing the last six. Two Baby Boomers a year – Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. They can be run easily with two or three volunteers. She can provide all the templates you require. If you are interested, please contact her. It would be a shame not to have them. They provide fun, and most importantly, add $300-400 profit on each bonspiel to the club. Thanks to everyone for participating. Jackie

ROCKIN’ BOOMER BONSPIEL – A HUGE SUCCESS FOR THE CLUB.

The club hosted the bonspiel on Saturday, November 19 with two full draws. There were

curlers from Richmond Hill, Cambridge, Stirling, Norwood and Brampton, as well as our club

members participating in full force. The Boomer theme required that the curlers be of 50 years of age or more. It was an open concept, therefore a team could be a mix of any combination.

The bonspiel committee of Kathy Chamberlain, Sandy Chapman, Jill Stewart, Carol Johnston,

Debbie Samoy, Carol Burnham, Jackie Igleheart and Charlotte Martz, all contributed great ideas

to make this a fun and unique bonspiel. Friday, they were busy prepping the food and decorating.

Thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their time on Saturday to make the bonspiel come

together. Les Martin, for the terrific ice. Kathy C for her music contribution, Jim Kelleher for

bartending, Marion Carroll and Bev McComb for their expertise at the registration and scoring

table. Barb Petherick for donating the chili meat, Jill Stewart, Eunice, Pat Sheridan and Betty Jeffs for making u a team to give us a full first draw.

Many thanks to the kitchen crew: Sheilda Owens, Terry Craddock, Sandy Kelleher, Sharon Apted, Barb Petherick, Doug and Pat Burnside(in between curling).

Also kudos to our ladies who baked and donated breakfast fare to keep our costs down.

Sharon Moore, Laura Ingram, Sally Alton, Sandy Kelleher, and Sheilda Owens. Also to Sandy

Chapman for the rice krispie squares, Carol Johnston for the brownies and Eunice for the cream

puffs.

The curlers enjoyed the unique lunch of salads, a “create your own baked potato“ with many

fixins’, including vegetarian and meat chili. Dessert platter, and then a great afternoon snack.

The bonspiel raised $1,437.65 for the club, and of course the bar proceeds were great as well!

First draw winners were Skip-Dave Martz, Vice-Charlotte Martz, Second-Kevin Morris and Lead-Elza Morris, both all the way from Cambridge.

8

Second draw winners were Skip-Barry Brown, Vice-Doug Brownson(Marmora), Second-Charles

Exton(aka Skip), and Murray Fischer as Lead. Our homeclub members taking home some cash!

A big thanks to everyone and if your name was missed, we apologize for the oversight.

THE BIG WINNERS!!!!!!

Let’s do it again next year………
