UPCOMING TRAIL RIDE-mark your calendarsWe are having another trail ride, during thanksgiving weekend [November 25 and 26th and leave sometime Sunday 27th] at West Gate River Ranch near Lake Wales Fl .We have 20 stalls on hold till May 1st so if you want to overnite you need to call SOON and reserve your stall[s]. They are $35 per nite.They have rooms and campground also. There are activities for riders and non riders. We are going to get there on Friday and stay Sat and leave Sun. Some are going on Wed and stay the weekend. There is a rodeo on Sat night, Saloon, Restaurants, fishing, airboat rides, hay ride, and much more to make a weekend out of it. Join us for a day or the weekend! WEST COAST MORGANS' SUMMER HORSE CAMPWest Coast Morgans' Summer Horse Camp will be held June 13-August 19. That's ten weeks of fun with Morgan horses in Odessa, Florida. West Coast Morgans (WCM) Horse Camp is limited to 25 students, each assigned his or her own personal instructor. Instruction under saddle or driving is tailored to each student's experience level, and we can teach beginners through advanced students. We even have summer horse camp sessions for adults. WCM Summer Horse Camp offers half days, full days, and weekly options as well as early bird registration specials and group discounts.. A tentative topic schedule includes:.June 13-17: Meet the Morgan Horse June 20-24: So You Want to Own a Horse June 27-July 1: Medicine & Health July 5-8-: All About Driving (Tues-Fri only) July 11-15: Focus on Saddle Seat July 18-22: Florida Natural Adventures July 25-29: Focus on Hunt Seat August 1-5: Focus on Western August 8-12: Focus on Riders and Judging August 15-19: Show Prep & WCM Practice Show. JUMPING EVENTThe Gene Mische $200,000 Invitational was called the Budweiser Invitational before and is in Tampa every year at Raymond James Stadium. This year the name changed as Budweiser was bought by a Dutch company who did not sponsor the event which features the top jumpers and riders from the USA, France, Germany, Canada, Russia and several other countries. Rick Davis passed out a sign up sheet at the FMHA banquet and we had a lot of people sign up. The FMHA members and Davis Stable riders were the 3rd largest group , with 65 people, and got to do a meet and greet with a rider of our choice. Rick picked Mclain Ward, a former olympian ,and many time winner of big invitationals, We walked the course and met McLain Ward before the event.It was a fun time for all. This was the first time the event had a parade of breeds.This was a great opportunity to show off our Morgans, and they wanted the MORGAN to lead the parade!Here are a few pictures of Rebecca Watters and all Hail to the Chief, who was the Morgan rider at the parade of breeds and Rick Davis rode the Saddlebred Starbucks .
