New Holland RB150 to Uralla Ted and Sonia Williams decided it was time to update their New Holland BR750 Round Baler which has given them good service over many years. The new New Holland RB150 SuperFeed baler was started up in the paddock by Goodwin Kenny Service Technician, Nathan Keel, with Ted and his baler operators, David Swilks and Dennis Clarke. There had been 22 mm of rain the night before but Ted decided it was time to put the new baler to work. Talking with David and Dennis a week later they say the baler is performing well, between showers of rain!

New Holland TD5.90 delivered at Gunnedah Anthony Honess recently purchased a small property on the outskirts of Gunnedah. The “walk in-walk out” deal included a New Holland TD60D cab tractor that Anthony thought would be a bit small for his future haymaking plans. He opted to trade the TD60D in on a larger machine and recently took delivery of a New Holland TD5.90 Front Wheel Assist tractor with a Challenge (New Holland) AP35s PLUS Front End Loader. The loader has a 4 in 1 bucket and 3rd/4th function valves for a hay grab in the future. New Holland are currently offering 5 year Warranty on all TD and TT tractors so this was a bonus for Anthony who is looking very happy at the delivery and installation.

6th December 1962 with the first tractor being sold just two weeks after opening. The tractor was a Fiat 513R and sold for 1,466 Pounds. In those days the Fiat tractors were freighted to

The story about the old tractor, the generous dealer and the Operator Manual Some years ago Goodwin Kenny had this Fiat 211Rb tractor on display. A few years later it was purchased by Alan and Judy Bird. Alan had a long connection with Fiat tractors and Goodwin Kenny so when I told him it was for sale he reacted quickly. As it happens the story does not end there! At the Dungowan Village Fair & Motor Show this year I was talking with Barry Morris, a Fiat enthusiast and former salesman at Peel Valley Machinery, as he was looking for books for a Fiat 211Rb that he had recently purchased. As luck would have it Alan had a copy that he was happy to share and which we scanned and printed for Barry. What makes this more interesting is that Alan was given the book by a dealer at Gloucester who saw the tractor on the back of the trailer as they were taking it home from Tamworth. Apparently the dealer had never seen this model and the book had been under his counter for years. …….Sometimes you can be lucky!!

Keeping you up-to-date: Another busy month at work and at play….the weather this year has been hard to predict but Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 7th November was brilliant. I keep telling people that as a Sponsor this was a “Work Day”! It was a lot of fun taking part in the Fashions (being able to acknowledge our local business houses - Heeled where I found my beautiful hat, the Scarf Room where my classic dress was purchased and Collette where my red accessories were bought. A “find” in my mother-in-law’s Jewellery Box - a lovely little red brooch finished off my outfit. Alas, I did not win Fashions and I did not win on the Cup, but I had a great day out with friends Cathy & Doug Neill, Rob Taggart, Barry Cord, Simone Lewin, Elaine Abberfield and Kate Cullen. I was also fortunate to have a chat with a few customers during

the day at the Tamworth Jockey Club. Nundle CWA Art Exhibition was held on 10th, 11th and 12th November and I entered a couple of paintings (a portrait and a Still Life) to support the Nundle Community show. I have been painting for four years (in my spare time/ 3 hours a week!) and this was only my second Portrait which I had painted earlier in the year for the Tamworth Show. My thanks to my friend, and “good sport”, Sandy Brooks for allowing me to use her image. The portrait was entered in the “Emerging Artist” Section and was awarded a Highly Commended for “fabulous use of colour and line work in this

well designed portrait”. The concept came from a Downtown Magazine cover and so the painting was titled “Cover Girl - Sandy Brooks’. It would be impossible to capture Sandy’s beauty, personality and generosity in a photo or a painting, but I was so pleased with this result, and as Sandy said to me “Archibald's next!” I will have to find another local interesting face worth painting in 2018. The Hummingbird Masquerade Ball was held on Saturday 25th November at William Cowper Hall to raise money for United In Compassion. United in Compassion is a local group, founded by Lou & Lucy Haslam, whose primary mission is advocating for patient access to Full Spectrum Herbal Medicinal Cannabis extracts and dried herb Cannabis; in a manner which is safe, effective, affordable, equitable and favourable for patients, for the dignified relief of suffering. A fun night out with “masked” friends Fiona Little and Steve Prosser, Simone and Hayden Lewin, my new-found “cousin” Rob Taggart (that is another story!) and Alison and Aaron Hudson. …...Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
