Last year, our General Assembly approved the regulations for the creation of a “Youth Group”. At that time, nobody could have imagined how many organizational problems would arise more or less all over Italy. Suffice it to say that, despite the posters, newsletters, letters to the Clubs, etc., there are still people who pretend to be unaware of the existence of this initiative and the fact that their own Association’s Statute includes no provisions for young people - not to mention the international youth rally, which was the subject of measures taken by the Council or the National Assembly. In short, (and it may be purely coincidental) the impossible is being done to obstruct the launch of the Youth Group and to prevent any activities from taking place. Since June this year, the National Presidency has sent out several reminders to all Clubs involved (20 out of 186), asking them to pro-vide the names of the presumed members of the future National Assembly of youths. However, after about 5 months of written and/or telephone re-quests and reminders, the National Presidency has received only 8 of the 32 names of young people. It seems that various clubs are on the verge of losing sight of the future objectives of the association and of the Organization, while, on the contrary, they are expressing their concerns about issues that, although interesting, are not of primary importance, such as, for example, the prospective “membership prize 2014” amount. The National Presidency is firmly intent on launching the National Group and, to this end, over the next few days, it will be preparing the documents allowing the “Group” to take its first steps, while waiting for the Clubs to identify their representatives. Just for information, let us remind you that the Assembly wel-comed the regulations for youths, considering them to be extremely transparent and able to attract the attention of numerous young people.

Assocamp worries about its customersAssocamp worries about its customersAssocamp worries about its customers New norms for the safety of gas systems

Assocamp has recently ap-proved a proposal - with the goal of updating and improv-ing the services offered to its customers by the associated centres - that entails a series of targeted checks on caravan and motor caravan living units, intended to increase safety and reliability. Thanks to the possible direct involve-ment of the Ministerial Of-fices in charge, this proposal will involve the creation, in the near future, of a special and long-awaited pro-fessional register, which can be referred to in the case of interventions on gas systems installed on the living unit. With this in mind, Assocamp has created a Technical Committee in charge of dealing with the relevant Ministries, with the aim of studying the problems related to the aforementioned gas systems (including the organization and management of training and refresher

courses) and distribute all necessary communications. At the moment, the Technical Committee is made up of all those individuals who, for various rea-sons, are involved in assistance: Asso-camp, Truma (the main manufacturer of gas equipment) and Consumers (Confedercampeggio, Ed.); in the future, the participation of officials from the rele-vant Ministry cannot be ruled out. Among the first initiatives put into effect, there is the creation of a control manual, which will accompany every vehicle (new or used) throughout its life and in which all checks carried out will be re-corded. The manual will include a series of useful tips and the main precautions to follow on the subject of safety. It will be provided to the owner of the caravan

or motor caravan on the occasion of the first inspection of the gas systems inside the living unit. The inspections will obviously be carried out at all the Assocamp sales and service centres that have completed training and/or re-fresher courses. Presumably, the refresher courses will begin as early as the coming month of November, at the end of which, each participant will be issued with a certificate of attendance. Only the centres that have completed the refresher training and have demon-strated that they possess the necessary prerequisites will be included in the “Assocamp Technical Services Register”, which will subsequently be pub-lished and made available for consultation by all interested parties, also via web on the association’s website: www.assocamp.com. Assocamp trusts that the initiative will be received favourably both by the “Sales Network”, which will undoubtedly prove to be the most qualified and compliant with European stan-dards, and also by users, who will thus be better protected with regard to safety and reliability, also relative to the living units.

German Design Award for Truma Mover® XTGerman Design Award for Truma Mover® XTGerman Design Award for Truma Mover® XT In addition to the reddot Design Award, the Truma Mover® XT has also collected a further prize: the German Design Award Special Mention 2015. This internationally renowned prize ac-knowledges special product design quality and is bestowed by the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung). This organisation was set up in 1953 at the initiative of the German government with the objective of highlighting the importance of product design as a factor of success for the econ-omy. A jury of 30 professionals assesses criteria, such as ergonomics, functionality, level of innovation, du-rability, branding, product aesthetics, safety and technical quality. "High-quality design when pur-chasing a product that is visible on the vehicle is an important aspect. This is the reason why we pay close attention to developing products that are not only technically sound, but also appealing to the eye. We are very pleased about this award," says Mathias Venschott, head of Mover® development at Truma.

The Truma Mover® XT is the first manoeuvring sys-tem to use highly-efficient brushless motors that cut the overall weight of the device and battery by up to 20 kg. The system also manoeuvres caravans abso-lutely precisely, in a soft, jolt-free manner – even keeping it on track when there are one-sided obsta-cles. An intuitive operating concept and the high-quality design round off the package.

From the Senate: Incentives for the scrapping of motor caravansFrom the Senate: Incentives for the scrapping of motor caravansFrom the Senate: Incentives for the scrapping of motor caravans On Thursday 13 November, in the Hall of the Institute of Santa Maria in Aquiro at the Italian Senate, bill of law no. 2617 was presented to the national press and operators in the industry and signed by the following Senators: Valentini, Albano, Amati, Astorre and Moscardelli. Among those present, there was also Jan De Haas, President of the APC (Associazione Produttori Caravan e Camper - Association of Caravan and Camper Van Manufacturers). Senator Valentini illustrated the bill, which aims at replacing “Euro 0” and “Euro 1” category motor caravans

with new “Euro 4” category motor caravans. The fleet of vehicles in circulation in Italy, amounts to a total number of 273,723, of which 78,368 were registered before the end of 1999. Despite the fact that motor caravans contribute to promoting tourism and the economies of the so-called “smaller” loca-tions, the persistent negative economic crisis has led to a re-duction in vehicles registered (over the last 5-7 years) of over 70%. The goal of this bill of law, which involves the granting of a contribution of € 8,000.00, is to stimulate the recovery of the entire production chain, within which 1/3 of the workers are currently in re-dundancy. The Bill of Law

presented includes a time limit for scrapping, inasmuch as the vehi-cle must be purchased by 1 June 2015 and registered by 31 Decem-ber 2015. The incentive will also be extended to vehicles purchased by private individuals by means of leasing. Once the law has been approved, the Ministry of Economic Devel-opment will define the procedure for obtaining these benefits, by issuing a decree within two months of the entry into force of the law. The signatories of the bill of law expect that 1,500 campers may request the incentivized scrapping.

Our FutureOur FutureOur Future

Our future lies with young people. Many clubs pretend to want them, but in reality, they try in every possible way to isolate and alienate them. This is a huge mistake. The world has already changed and will con-tinue to change rapidly. If we fail to build a valid alternative, our little world will soon be outdated and obsolete. Let’s try to change this trend. Young people love and believe - more than we do - in freedom: of both thought and movement. Let's not disappoint them. Let’s commit to building solid founda-tions for their future. Otherwise, our hobby will have little hope of survival against those ashes that we have intentionally scattered over the future. I hope that the clubs - coordinated, as al-ways, by the respective Federations - are able to submit proposals and suggestions by the end of November 2014. Then, everyone must meet around a table in order to plan and publicize everything, to the best of our abilities, in Italy and the world.
