This is Marian; we celebrated his birthdayparty in the Crisis Center. In the picture you see him with his first birthday cake ever! Dear friends and supporters of Mana Deschisa Romania, Another month has passed since we last updated you and again we have much to tell. We would like to thank you for the encouraging messages we have received lately. It is an honor for us to know that our work is a blessing to you and encouraging. Crisis Center In the end of April we sent out a newsflash and we were letting you know that the children from the Crisis Center need school uniforms. We were very excited to find out immediately that someone decided to donate money for one uniform. We still need 3 more for anyone who wants to help at the cost of 50 euro / uniform. In May we celebrated Marian’s birthday. He is thirteen now, and he was very proud with his first birthday cake ever. We played games with all the kids and they had a very good time together. For his birthday we gave Marian a new pair of shoes and some clothing, since he had almost no clothes suitable for the summer. It was very touching to see his gratefulness for everything he received, something that other kids his age may take for granted. Therapeutic Center In May we planted lots of vegetables in the greenhouse and they are growing beauti- fully and healthy. The irrigation system is working well and God blessed us with rain over the last few weeks, so the water in the pond has been enough for the plants. For pictures of the greenhouse, scroll down to the next page. Irina, one of the girls in the Therapeutic Center, picked up an important task and that is to help the children from the Crisis Center catch up with their schoolwork, since their education level is very low. We are glad to see she enjoys doing that and we are guiding her to prepare a project for the whole summer with them. This has been essential for her self-esteem as well. Gabriela went through a rough time over the last couple of weeks, but we are so glad to see she was able to overcome the problems and get stronger through the experiences she had. A while ago she took up playing the guitar and it is nice to hear the worship songs she is playing and singing. We are actually looking for another gui- tar for her, since she has been playing the one Adina is using, who doesn’t live in the same house with her anymore. So if you have, or know somebody who has a spare guitar, please contact us. We know Gabriela will be thrilled! Irina is teaching the children from the Crisis Center. She helps them to catch up with their schoolwork, since their education leval is very low.

Rehabilitation CenterLife is moving on in the Rehabilitation Center and the girls who live there are learning more to hold their ground in everyday life. They are doing their best to be a support for the girls in the Therapeutic Center and also they go on outreach on a weekly basis to encourage other girls that are still in similar situations that these girls were before.

Georgiana has been working for a few months on writing a book about her life testimony. We hope one day soon it will be published and used as an encouragement for others who are facing the same difficulties.

Mihaela will finish another year of school this month. After that, she only has to take one more year of studies to graduate from high school. We are very proud of the progress she makes.

We ask you to keep the girls in prayer, as life is not always easy for them. Dealing with their pasts and try-ing to build a new life with God takes time and effort. There are times when life is easy, and times when life is hard. But the important thing is that they learn to persevere, even when life gets tough. We are glad and proud to see that quality in them.

Thank you again and make sure you stay in touch with us. Very soon we will have other exciting news to share with you! Many blessings,Mana Deschisa TeamPS: we attached a lot of pictures from Marian’s birthday party. Scroll down to the last page to see them!
