Term 4, 2019
Welcome back to Kerrimuir for term 4, 2019. This
term we have many exciting activities and events
occurring at our school. These include grade 6
graduation, camp for grade 3 and 4, grade 2 sleep
over, excursions in most year levels and of course our
Kerrimuir School Fair on Saturday 9th November.
Principal’s Message:
Michael McLean
2020
As we are now beginning our organisation of classes
for 2020, please call or email the School Office as
soon as possible if you are not going to be here in
2020. It is really helpful for us to know sooner rather
than later about students leaving and enrolling at
our school.
Regards,
Michael McLean

Dear parents, Thank you so much for your support of the Scholastic Book Fair last term. It was a huge success and the total sales equated to a commission of $1,125 to purchase new books for our Library. Scholastic also donated $110 worth of books to our school. I hope your children enjoy their new books and your purchases have in turn, made an invaluable contribution to the Library collection. Happy reading. Denise Atkins

Division Athletics
Congratulations to all our Kerrimuir students who competed in the Whitehorse
Division Athletics event on Wednesday. Sienna C entered the 1500m long distance
race and Rehaan R, Ethan C, Josh M and Archie P ran in the 4x100m relay. They did
well to make it to this level of competition. And well done to those students who
qualified but were not able to make it on the day.

As a young scientist and naturalist, you need to know all about Australia and why the land is the way it is. Often
Australia has experienced 10-15 years of severe drought and then flooding rains have come. Get a feel for the
“bush”, the great outback, and our water challenges in Australia. Learn “My Country” and see how it tells about our
country that is so different from where most people came from originally. Match photos to the ideas in the poem.
Learn to read weather maps and compare predictions to reality. What do you believe? Who was Albert Namatjira
and what did he do? Can we do what he did? Develop your memory, gain new words to use, write your own poetry
and create a painting. Why do we need “mateship” more than most?
