U17 Parkville Division 1 – Bayside def by DCNC - 18-24Once again our defenders produced many turnovers for us and once again we failed to convert. Well done to Mikaela and thank you for filling in and well done to Lauren - between them seven clean intercepts and nine rebounds! A seven goal deficit in the second quarter contributed greatly to our loss, one to forget!

U17 Parkville Division 2 – Bayside def by Doncaster & District - 19-30Bayside had a loss to Doncaster and District 2. The girls first half was terrific, with passages of play that were brilliant and some of the best netball I have seen them play all season. The second half, however, was not our best and the game slipped away from us. Siena, Hannah and Amelia were brilliant all game; they applied incredible defensive pressure all over the court, got numerous tips and intercepts, strong drives and were on fire all night, Amelia outstanding with her shooting percentage! Holly was great switching back over into goals with great play in the attack line, Eliza never let her player get a sniff of the ball shutting her opponent down, Charlee was fantastic on a tall GS, Steph’s front cuts and drives in WA created brilliant passages of play and Bridgette's movement in the circle playing in with both goalers was great. We just need to put our great netball together for four full quarters!

Open Division 1 – Bayside def MUNC - 29-27A nervous win for Div 1 over Melbourne University. Our goal was to improve our first quarter (slow starts) and we did that leading 10 - 4 at quarter time. Then MUNC got a run on and it was goal for goal after half time. Plenty of basic errors and heaps of improvement still to come. Maddie Knott was a standout in defence and well done to sister Bec Knott who played her first Div 1 game. We need all players at trainings Sunday. Improving on game day doesn’t just happen, it takes hours of practice and fine tuning. If one person is away, it affects the whole team as strategies and drills either can’t be done or some people don’t get the message. I look forward to seeing everyone Sunday.

Open Division 2 – Bayside - Bye

Open Division 3 – Bayside def by Westside Saints - 27-44Div 3 had a frustrating loss to a strong Westside. While three of our quarters were pleasing we had a shocking second quarter and then struggled to catch up. We need to have more confidence in our ability and bring our intensity to the next level in order to able to compete with the top sides.

Open Division 4 – Bayside def VU Vultures NC - 28-14Good to have a win and play like a team. Bringing it out of defence was really smooth and an improvement from previous weeks. Fantastic to see that we are putting training into matches. In weeks to come we need to work super hard on off the ball, clearing in attack and blocking in defence. Let’s keep the good form going!

Go Bayside!
