“THE FUTURE IS OURS”
Newsletter
28th November 2019 Term 4 Week 7 (Issue No.38)
VISION: North Haven Public School, in partnership with our community, promotes and provides a dynamic, future-focused learning environment fostering equity and excellence. Our school will deliver opportunities for every
student to become a successful learner and a caring, confident, creative individual.
Dear parents and community members, As we hurtle towards the end of the 2019 school year, there are so many opportunities to celebrate our terrific year and we would love to share that with our community. Wednesday 4th December is our GALA NIGHT and everyone is invited. We would appreciate a gold coin donation. The concert kicks off at 6:30pm. Presentation Day is Friday 13th December. K-2 starts at 9:30 am and Primary commences at 11:30am. Our canteen will, once again, offer delicious treats for morning tea and lunch. They would welcome donations of morning tea items to sell. On Presentation Day the major P & C raffle will be drawn. They are running a competition between classes with a very generous prize of a showbag for each child of the winning class. How do they win? By bringing in the most items for the hampers. Please support this major fundraising activity. 2020 We have decided to draft classes and organisation based on 9 classes. We remain on the cusp of 8 and 9 classes. The unexpected movement of students, both in and away, will determine the outcome at the beginning of the year. It is anticipated that all classes will be temporary until after the final numbers are submitted on 6th February. I will be taking extended leave for 2020. Andrew Kuchling,Director Educational Leadership for Hastings Network conducted a merit selection process. The
successful candidate, Kate Brace, has 10 years experience as both a teaching and non-teaching Principal across two Principal networks. In addition, she has worked with the State Early Action for Success Team supporting the Numeracy Coordinator for the project and designed professional learning for Instructional Leaders, Principals and staff from 150 schools across the state. Kate is looking forward to working with the students, staff and families of North Haven Public School in 2020. Kind regards, Christine Wild Principal

NSW PSSA STATE ATHETICS CARNIVAL NHPS had 3 promising athletes represent their school and the North Coast PSSA at the recent NSW State Athletics Championships. Adam Drewitt, Zak Houston and Bella Lahey were selected for the North Coast team after impressive performances at the North Coast Championships held in Lismore. At the State Carnival, Adam was placed 5th of 37 competitors in the Senior Boys Shot Put with a personal best of 12.02m! Zak was placed 9th of 39 competitors with a jump of 4.91m, also a personal best for Zak. Bella competed in the Junior Girls Discus and also threw a personal best at the Championships. Bella was giving 12 months age difference to her fellow competitors-Bella being a 9 year old against 10 year
olds. Bella is hoping to make the North Coast team again in 2020, where the experience she gained this year will benefit her greatly when she is a 10 year old. What fantastic achievements Adam, Zak and Bella! NHPS and the local community are all so proud of you and the wonderful efforts you displayed in Sydney!!
