The Universal bag is designed to fit any place where you would want. It is made of durable industrial ripstop canvas and has eight (8) strong webbing straps with “D” rings to fasten anywhere. The Straps are very long to allow multiple applications, and can be cut shorter according to your fitment. The bag is expandable for those extra unforeseen goods. The zips are well protected with a flap to minimize dust and water entrance. The bag is water and dust resistant.

Pannier Frame Tool Bag This bag is made of durable ripstop material and fits

any pannier frame. Your pannier will still be able to fit. It is ideal for tools, tyre repair kits and anything

essential to carry on your motorcycle. Is has two zips which allow it to be locked. It is water and dust

resistant.

Handlebar Bag This bag made of industrial ripstop is designed to fit almost any

handlebar. This bag has ample space for keys, wallet, remote, cell phone, etc. You can chose between a

closed top or a see-through top where a cell phone or GPS can be visible. This bag is not water resistant

and you would have to seal you device separately. It can either be fitted in front, on top or behind your

handlebar. This bag has four(4) webbing straps with “D” rings to tighten it to your handlebar.

Unneeded or to long straps can be cut. It also comes with a long stretchable strap on either side to help

stabilise the bag when fitted on the top of your handlebar. If not needed, it can also be cut off.

Flask Bag This unique bag is durable ripstop with rubber insulation on the inside. It can be

strapped in any way to your motorcycle or used as an insulated bottle or flask carrier. The straps can be

fastened in any direction. This holder can also be used as a universal bag to store any bottle or tools or

anything else.

Tool Roll:

Any motorcyclist needs tools. We therefore designed a tool roll that is small and convenient. The bag is

designed so that it has a big flap which will serve as an area to pack parts on a clean surface when

working. This toolbag can also be bought without tools.

winter or rain. It is designed to fit on any motorcycle

with hand guards and is stiff to not obstruct any hand

movement. It can be fitted and removed very easily

and quickly with just one strap. When not in use it

OMNI POWER INVERTERS What size inverter must I use?

Sinetech stocks many different sizes, and several brands of power inverters for solar and commercial use. We

also carry a range of professional telecom inverters.

The inverter size you choose depends on the power in watts (or current in amps) of the appliance/equipment

you want to run (find the power consumption by referring to the specification plate on the appliance or tool or

you will find the information in the appliance manual. If this information is not available, check with the

appliance supplier). You need to know both the continuous rating in watts or amps; and the peak/surge rating

in watts or amps. Without this information any further calculation is not possible.

Converting AMPS to watts: Multiply the equipment/appliance AMPS x 230 (AC voltage) = WATTS (approximate)

Working out the power: Multiply the equipment/appliance AMPS x 230 V (AC voltage) to give the approximate

WATTS or AC power.

Calculate approximate startup load (peak/surge watts): Multiply the equipment/applicance WATTS x 3 =

PEAK/SURGE WATTS (approximate)

So if you want to run an appliance with a continuous load of 5 Amps and a peak load of 15 Amps: Power : V x I

= VA i.e. 230VAC x 5A = 1150 Watts continuous power.

Power: V x I = VA i.e. 230VAC x 15A = 3450 Watts peak/surge (also known as start or inrush current)

You would need an inverter with a continuous rating of approximately 1500 watts and with a peak/surge rating

of approximately 3500 watts. It is always advisable to build in a safety factor by overrating the continuous

rating by 20 - 25%.

How do I connect an inverter?

The small inverters (150 watts) come with a cigarette lighter adapter, and may be plugged into your car's lighter

socket. Units from 300W and above, are supplied with DC connection cables that must be firmly connected

directly to a battery.

Larger inverters (300 watts and over) must be hard-wired directly to a battery. The cable size depends on the

distance between battery and inverter, and will be specified in the Owner's Manual.

When connecting the inverter to the battery use the thickest wire available, in the shortest length practical.

What type of battery should I use?

Small Inverters : Most vehicle and marine batteries will provide an ample power supply for 30 to 60 minutes

even when the engine is off. Actual time may vary depending on the age and condition of the battery, and the

power demand being placed on it by the equipment being operated by the inverter. If you use the inverter while

the engine is off, you should start the engine every hour and let it run for 15 minutes to recharge the battery.

300 Watt and larger Inverters: We recommend you use deep cycle (marine or solar) batteries which will give

you several hundred complete charge/discharge cycles. If you use the normal vehicle starting batteries, they

will wear out after about a dozen charge/discharge cycles (vehicle batteries are not designed to do this type of

work!).

When operating the inverter with a deep cycle battery, start the engine every 30 to 60 minutes and let it run for

15 minutes to recharge the battery.

When the inverter operates appliances with high continuous load ratings for extended periods, it is not

advisable to power the inverter with the same battery used to power your car or truck. If the car or truck battery

is utilized for an extended period, it is possible that the battery voltage may be drained to the point where the

battery has insufficient reserve power to start the vehicle. In these cases, it's a good idea to have an extra deep

cycle battery for the inverter (installed close to the inverter), cabled to the starting battery. It is recommended to

install a battery isolator between the batteries with a separate regulator.

Gooi die pietersielie en suurlemoenskil by. Geur na smaak met sout en peper. Skep die beesstertstukke met ’n gaatjieslepel uit die sop. Trek die vleis van die bene af en gooi dit terug in die sop. Africa since 2000 and he still laughs at our Afrikaans pronunciation of his surname as “G-o-u-

g” instead of “G-o-t-h”. We love Dennis’ sense of humour and not a single day goes by that we

don’t have a nice laugh with him. Dennis is very energetic and when something has to be done,

Dennis is the first to roll up his sleeves and jump in.

Tips for Washing Your Motorcycle

BY MARK HINCHLIFFE I’d rather be riding my motorcycle than washing it, but after a long weekend of riding, it can be fun bringing it back to showroom quality and a great way to spend a couple of hours in the company of your best friend – your bike. Preparation is key Remove tank bags, luggage and any accessories you don’t want to get wet such as a GPS. Also, get all your washing and cleaning products ready and give the bike time to cool down, because you don’t want to spray cold water on a hot engine. You can use a high pressure washer but only once the pressure has been adjusted to low pressure. We use Prepsol that is diluted with 50 % water. Spray this on with n simple spray bottle and leave it on for at the most 5 minutes and definately don’t do this in the sun. Rinse all the detergent off with clean water. Now your bike is ready to be washed with soap. Wash frequently, but don’t overdo it This is a bit of a balancing act. Frequent washing will alert you early to any developing problems such as oil or fluid leaks, loose or damaged parts etc. Leaving squashed bugs on your paintwork makes them difficult to remove later and can leave behind a blemish. Also, squashed bugs in your radiator can cause overheating problems. However, if you wash too often, you can displace lubricants from cables and exposed grease points on old engines. If you’ve come back from the bush and your adventure bike is caked in mud, you will need a full wash straight away. If you’ve just had a short jaunt up to your favourite mountain cafe, then your bike might just need a gentle wipe over with some windscreen or bodywork spray and a soft cloth. Wash with water and suitable cleaning agents Don’t use a lot of water. Use the right cleaning product for the job. There is a product for every use. But be careful of abrasive cleaners or general-purpose household cleaning products as these can damage paint or chrome. Detergents should have a pH balance between six and eight, so it’s

neither too acidic nor too alkaline as either could damage your paint. Check it’s safe to use on all paint types. Don’t use vinyl cleaners on the seat as it may look shiny but it will be slippery. If you are using any harsh compounds to tackle tough jobs you should probably think about wearing rubber gloves. High-pressure cleaning It can be effective in removing caked-on mud and tough grime, but it can also force water into electrics and crevices where it can pool and cause corrosion or, at least, degreasing of vital parts. If using a high-pressure cleaner, keep it away from the instruments, electronics, chain and vinyl seats which can be ripped by pressurised water. Concentrate on wheels and bodywork. Pressure cleaners will do a good job of cleaning mud off a chain, but you will have to re-grease the chain afterwards. (When applying chain lube use only enough to do the job. Excess lube flings off on to your wheels.) If you do use a pressure cleaner, use it at nothing over 2000psi. It can also be environmental as they often use less water. Make sure you have the right sponges, rags, chamois, brushes etc Have separate cleaning rags and sponges for different areas. Don’t use a sponge to clean grease off the wheels then attack the seat with the same sponge as you will leave grease on your seat. There is a wide variety of modern cleaning equipment available. Microfibre cloths are particularly effective while also protecting surfaces. However, don’t dismiss the effectiveness of an old toothbrush for getting grit and grime out of hard-to reach areas such as radiators or for cleaning laced wheels. You can also use finest-grade steel wool to remove burnt-on grease and grime from chrome exhaust pipes. Attention to detail This makes the difference between a clean bike and concours standard. When you’ve finished washing and polishing, spend time going over the bike one more time with a micro fibre cloth. Wipe the cables, clean the engine casings, rub the wheel hubs and lie down on the ground to see if you’ve missed any areas. If you are entering a concours, judges will often wipe their fingers under the bike looking for grease and grime. Only you use tyre shine on the tyre walls if you are entering a show and shine and not riding, otherwise overspray can reach the tread area and adversely affect grip. Waxing can make or break a bike Don’t use cutting compounds as they leave permanent swirls in the paintwork. Use a soft wax that adds a layer, rather than takes a layer off. Some modern bikes are actually covered in a layer of plastic or lacquer that can easily be damaged. Trial the product on a discrete area first then look at it in direct sunlight to see if it leaves swirls. Good quality wax will act as a sunscreen, leaving a UV barrier to protect your paint. Wax needs to be reapplied regularly to provide this protection. Put the polish on a clean rag, not directly on the bodywork. When dry, buff off the wax with a lint-free cloth. WD40 This is great for getting rid of excess water as well as gently removing built-up grease. It’s also good for re-greasing cables, hinges and levers that might have lost some lubrication in the wash. Use wax spray or chain lube to coat the chain and always follow the instructions on the can. Drying off is the final step When you’re finished with the chamois, ride slowly around the block, squeezing the brakes to pump out excess water. Then go for a longer and faster ride on a highway to blow water out of deep nooks and crannies. If water is allowed to stay there it can cause corrosion. You can also use a leaf blower to do the same job, but isn’t it nicer to go for a ride and show off your sparkling bike? When you get home, give you pride and joy another wipe down with a microfibre cloth to get rid of streaks on the windscreen and bodywork caused by excess water running out of it.

Stefan skryf: Die naweek van 24/25 Junie was ‘n besige een by Country

TRAX. Ons het twee kursusse terselfdertyd aangebied. Die “Intermediate”

kursus vir Avontuur fietse, waar ryers geleentheid kry om basiese beginsels

toe te pas deur “ware wereld” hindernisse korrek te leer ry, het

oudergewoonte baie glimlagte veroorsaak. Ryers het hier geleentheid gehad

om in veilige en beheerde omstandighede die fietse en hulleself te toets in

situasies waar hindernisse soos gate, slote, steil klimme en afdraendes, skerp

draaie teen spoed, dik sand, boomstompe, ens raakgeloop word in die

pad. Ruim geleenthied is geskep vir herhaling, sodat teorie kon insink en

begin ontwikkel in spier-geheue. Die vordering van almal wat bygewoon het,

was fenomenaal en ons is seker almal geniet die fietse nou heelwat

meer. Een van die sinvolle gevolge van die kursus is dat ryers hulle eie en

die fietse se vermoë beter verstaan en die vaardigheid ontwikkel om fietse

suksesvol deur voorheen onmootlike hinernisse te kan ry sonder skade aan man

en masjien.

Intussen het Behan en sy groep vir die eerste keer in Bloemfontein

deelgeneem aan die “Dirt Bike Fundamentals” opeiding. Dit is een van

Country TRAX se standaard leerplanne, wat nou ook in Bloemfontein spesiaal

vir Veldfietse of “Enduro” ryers aangebied word. Die fundamentele beginsels

eerste kursus het baie goed gedoen en die glimlagte agter die stof besmeerde

gesigte was genoeg getuienis van hulle sukses.

Sondag het te vinnig aangebreek, en almal is huistoe, gewapen met

sertifikate, die gesogte Country TRAX hoedjies en veel meer vaardigheid as

The Mustangs Wheelchair Rugby Club, which was founded by Saint Andrew's Old Boy Jared McIntyre, will for the first time host a round of the national Wheelchair Rugby League on 8 July. The action takes place between 08:00 and 17:00 at the Madiba Arena on the UFS South Campus (Vista University), 333 Church Street, with the main game at 12:00.
