ABOUT RIET Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur
(RIET-Jaipur), a premier technical & management
institution, was established in the year 2000. With its
dedicated and committed efforts, the institution has
earned the reputation of one of the Best Engineering and
Management Institution in Rajasthan for boys and girls.
RIET campus is located over a sprawling and lush green
area at Bhankrota, Ajmer Road, Jaipur. The institute aims
at providing broad based knowledge and simultaneously
builds a temper for the life long process of learning and
exploring. The institute offers undergraduate programs for
students having technical bent of mind in Computer
Science, Information Technology, Electronics &
Communication, Electrical & Electronics Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil
Engineering leading to B.Tech. Degree. The institution also
offers PG Programs in M.Tech, MCA & MBA. All the courses
are duly approved by AICTE and affiliated to Rajasthan
Technical University, Kota.

technological advances, migration and
residential patterns, and global economic,
environmental, politician and social con-
ditions. In such an environment, we need
ongoing assessment based education that
will help to build up the educational
programs, policies and related strategies
in order to meet the needs, interests,
expectations and aspirations of

VLSI DESIGN & TANNER TOOL (ECE DEPT.)
(13-09-2017)
A one day departmental workshop has been held on
Wednesday, 13/09/2017 on the topic VLSI Design and
Tanner Tool . The inauguration is done by Principal, HOD
& all ECE Department faculties. The students who
participated were the Under-Graduate scholars of RIET.
The convener of the workshop was Ms. Yashika Saini and
Mr. Om Prakash Chaudhary. The technical session was
headed by the students of final year Mr. Mohit Jain and Mr.
AkashSarna.
INDUSTRIAL TOUR
(26-09-2017 TO 27-09-2017) (FOR CSE, ECE, ME, EE AND CIVIL)
The tour started from Jaipur at 8:00 pm via Ajmer-
Chandigarh GaribRath on 26-09-2017 and arrived in
Chandigarh on 27-09-2017.
It was followed by the industrial visit to HIM Technoforge
and Mico Turner.
About Baddi : Baddi is an industrial town and a Nagar
panchayat in the Southwestern Solan district of Himachal
Pradesh. The town lies on the border of Himachal Pradesh
and Haryana states in the Shivalik Hills, around 35
kilometres west of Solan. Baddi is home to multiple
pharmaceutical companies who have established
manufacturing plants and R&D hubs in the town. The
town is Asia's biggest Pharmaceuticals hub and is
home to some of the largest pharmaceutical
companies such as Intas Biopharmaceuticals, Cipla,
Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Ajanta Pharma, Abbott
Laboratories, Ranbaxy Laboratories, etc. In
addition to pharmaceutical companies, Baddi
also houses a total of 2,120 factories
belonging to leading FMCG and textile
companies among others and generates an
annual turnover of Rs 60,000 crore.Baddi
employs one-third of all persons engaged in
Himachal's medium and large industries. In
terms of revenue, the town contributes half of
the state's total revenues generated from
industries.

Location: Unit 2, Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
Products: Mechanical spare parts mainly
gears for vehicles.
Operations: Company s clients are Mahindra,
Kirloskar, Honda, Nissan, Piaggio, SKF, Sona,
and many more. The spare parts are produced
in different sizes according to their clients.
They have standard measurement for
maintaining their quality. They have more
than 100 machines to make such spare parts
and in a minute they produce more than 50
parts. All machines are CNC types except
some machines are manually operated lathe
types. Different types of gears are been
manufactured with specialty in spherical
gears.
MICRO TURNER PVT. LTD.
Location: Unit 4, Nalagarh District- Baddi in
Himachal Pradesh.
Products: Mechanical spare parts mainly
shaft for automobile companies.

SELF DEFENSE TRAINING PROGRAMME
(11-10-2017 TO 15-10-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology was indeed fortunate to host a 5 days workshop on self
defense training programme from 11th to 15th October,
2017.
The event was enhanced by Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, Principal,
RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin,
Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, along with all the
respective participants (physical education teachers and
other institutional heads) from various secondary and
senior secondary schools, of Rajasthan who had been a
part of this 5 day training programme in the RIET campus.
Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, Principal, RIET, welcomed the guests
Shri Bahadur Singh ji, ADPC, RAMSA, and Shri Bhupendar
Singh Ji, Programme coordinator.
The master trainers Dr Saroj Bala, Shri Banwarilal, Shri Ashwini Kumar gave a PPT presentation on this
occasion regarding the 5 day Self defense training programme. They mentioned about their training
regarding self defense of women, and use of weapons for the same. In addition to the self defense physical
training they also practiced meditation every day as a part of self discipline.
The closingceremony was held on 15th October, 2017.
A group photograph was taken in the end which marked the closure of the valedictory session, with the
note of gratitude extended by Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, Principal, RIET.
NUCLEAR POWER IN PRESENT SCENARIO
(11-10-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur
hosted a talk session on the topic Nuclear Power in
Present Scenario on 11.10.2017. The speaker on the
occasion was Dr A K Nayak.
Dr Nayak,is M.Tech, PhD in Nuclear Engineering and is a
scientist (H+) and head of thermal hydraulics section,
(SO H+), Reactor engineering division, Professor of
HomiBhabha National Institute (HBNI), BARC, Trombay,
Dr Nayak spoke on history of nuclear power programme
in India with comparison of fuel consumption in the
country. He also spoke on discovery of fission, history of
the nuclear power plants in country and in other parts of the world, accidents in TMI Chernobyl, nuclear
power in electricity generation and safety and security of the power plants.

& Admin, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, along with all the respective HODs Faculty members
and students who participated in the event.
The note of gratitude was extended by Ms Vijaya, Asst Prof (English). The session proved to be very
fruitful for all the faculty members and students.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLES
(10-10-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology
was indeed fortunate to host a seminar on
Healthy lifestyles presented by Dr
ParameshwarArora, the Chief Physician,
Ayurdham, Senior Consultant, Sir Ganga Ram
Hospital, New Delhi and Visiting Consultant,
Naturally Yours, Nairobi, Kenya. Dr Arora was
accompanied by his wife Dr (Mrs) GeetanjaliArora
also an Ayurvedist, on this occasion.
The institution was also graced by the presence of
Chairman BOG, Shri R S Tomar Sir, Prof
Sudheer kumar, MNIT, Jaipur, Col. J S Lamba
and Adv. BaldevAtreya.
The event was enhanced by Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, Principal, RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics
& Admin, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, along with all the respective HODs Faculty members
and students who participated in the event.
Dr. Arora's research work about correct
consumption of water has been recognized and
appreciated across India and also in some other
countries. His work is also published in form of
a book- "Water - Elixir or Poison?" (जल-
अमतृयाविष?).
Dr Arora who is a life style coach; spoke at
length about the various aspects and
importance of water in the lives of human
beings as per Ayurveda.
A special note of appreciation was put forward
by Prof Sudheer of MNIT, Jaipur. He asked the
budding engineers to inculcate the knowledge
of Ayurveda in their daily lives and to connect this art of medicine with Technology.
The note of gratitude was extended by Col. J S Lamba. He thanked the guests Dr Parameshwar Arora and
Dr (Mrs) GeetanjaliArora for the seminar.

SHORT TERM COURSE ON COMMUNICATION SKILLS
(09-10-2017 TO 13-10-2017)
The Department of MCA organized a one week Short Term Course on Communication Skills through ICT
from 09-10-2017 to 13-10-2017. The course was conducted by NITTTR, CHANDIGARH. Total 48
participants registered themselves for the course. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Saroj Hirnawal,
Principal (RIET), Mr. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean (RIET) and HODs of all the departments. Prof. S.S. Patanik
and Prof. P.K. Singla form NITTTR, Chandigarh took the first session on Significance and Process of
Communication .
SHORT TERM COURSE ON VLSI DESIGN THROUGH ICT
(09-10-2017 TO 13-10-2017)
A 5 Day session was held on short term course on VLSI design organized by the department of electrical
and electronics engineering by help of National institute of technical teachers training and research,
Chandigarh.
The coordinator of this NITTTR based online conference is Harish Kumar Maheshwari, Assistant
Professor, and EEE Department. The inauguration was conducted by the HOD & all EEE Department
faculties. The course co-ordinator of this conference was Dr. Rajesh Mehra ECE department, NITTR
Chandigarh. During inauguration Dr. Rajesh Mehra gave the information of VLSI design that how VLSI
Designing is beneficial for faculty and research scholar students. After the inauguration of this conference
the first lecture was given by Er. HS Jatana VLSI Design division semiconductor laboratory, Mohali Punjab
on CMOS VLSI Design &the second lecture was also given by Er. HS Jatana on Analog CMOS Design
frontend.
SHORT TERM COURSE ON WIRELESS AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION
(30-10-2017 TO 03-11-2017)
A short term course on wireless and mobile
communication was organized by the department of
electronics and communication engineering in
coordination with National institute of technical teachers
training and research, Chandigarh.
The coordinator of this NITTTR based online conference
was Ms. Yashika Saini, Assistant Professor, ECE
Department. The inauguration was graced by Principal,
HOD & all ECE Department faculties in Seminar Room &
the course co-coordinator of this conference was Ms.
Garima Saini ECE department, NITTR Chandigarh. In the
inauguration ceremony Ms. Garima Sainigave the
information on Wireless and mobile communication that how it is beneficial for faculty and research

scholar students. After the inauguration of this workshop the first lecture was given by the Ms.
GarimaSaini on 2G air interfaces, & the second lecture by Ms. GarimaSainiwas on 2G and 3G architecture.
VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
(31-10-2017 TO 04-11-2017)
Vigilance Awareness campaign has been organized by NSS Units, RIET College, Jaipur from 31-10-2017 to
04-11-2017. The aim of this campaign is to make people aware about the contribution in the progress of
the country by making it "Corruption Free".

ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON HOW TO MAKE YOURSELF
PROFESSIONAL
(01.11.2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur
hosted a one day International Workshop on 1.11.2017, for the
entire B tech, MBA & MCA students. The topic of the session
was How to make yourself professional . The speaker on this
occasion was Ms Juliana Somba Banda, the First Secretary-
Trade & Investment, High Commission of the Republic of
Malawi to India. Ms Juliana is a speaker, life coach, image
consultant, economist and a diplomat, With Academic
background in Economics, Agriculture, International Trade and
policy analysis. In the questionnaire session, which was held
post lunch break, Ms Juliana interacted with the B tech
students. She guided them regarding personality development and goal setting in their career. She also
said that setting goals help on to achieve them. Staying focused can help you accomplish almost anything,
from studying for a test to finishing your work an hour early.

Staying focused can help improve your professional life,
help you listen to people better, and also help you come up
with a solution to problems at a quicker speed.
To refine ones vision is very important and to magnify the
same she said that a vision is a vivid mental image of what
you want your work to be at some point in the future, based
on your goals and aspirations. Having a vision will give
your career a clear focus, and can stop you heading in the
wrong
direction.
She gave incentives on achievement of goals and also said
that youth should never shy away from challenges but
must always challenge their challenges .
The session proved to be excellent for the budding young
technocrats. Ms Juliana was accompanied by Ms shilpa,
senior trainer youth campus and Dr Randheer, director
youth campus, during this session.
The scholars of RIET were highly benefited by the same. The session ended with thanks to the trainers
and faculty members.
NEN E-LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
(09-11-2017 AND 10-11-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur hosted a Two days Workshop on 9.11.2017
and 10.11.2017 , and this was under the Entrepreneurship programme. The event was in accordance
with the Wadhwani Foundation and NEN in
association with Rajasthan Institute of Engineering
and Technology. This was the second E-Leader
workshop which was hosted by the college.
The Region Head NEN, Dr Deepak Motwani and
Resource person, Ms Bhumika Jain, graced the
occasion along with Principal Riet, Dr Saroj
Hiranwal and Ms Monika Shekhawat, HOD MBA.
Principal Riet, Dr. Saroj Hiranwal said that events
like this help the budding entrepreneurs to get new
ideas in the field.
The session which was highly successful was
attended by a number of students of various colleges in Jaipur along with the RIET students.

SHORT TERM COURSE ON OPEN SOURCE TECHNOLOGY (CSE DEPT.)
(13-11-2017 TO 17-11-2017)
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is
organized a One week Short Term Course on Open source
Technology through ICT from 13.11.17 to 17.11.17. The
course was sponsored by NITTTR, CHANDIGARH. Principal,
RIET, Dr. Saroj Hiranwal and Head- CSE prof. Kapil Dev Sharma
inaugurated the program by lightening the lamp. Total 45
participants from various departments of the college
participated in the course. On day one 3 sessions were
conducted on different topics like Overview of Open Source,
Open Source and Spoken Tutorial Initiatives, Virtualization
Technology.
THE SCIENCE CARNIVAL- SPARK-17
(17-11-2017 TO 18-11-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur organized The Science Carnival- Spark-17 on
17th and -18th November 2017.
The event was inaugurated by chairman RIET Ku Bheem Singh ji.
Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal expressed her thoughts on the
occasion and said that this championship would provide the
platform for the exchange of ideas, invention, learning etc among
students.
Dean Academics & Admin, Prof Kapil Dev Sharma, said that This
Championship was planned to show case the talents of our young
visionaries / scientists
from various schools in
entire Rajasthan, from
11th & 12th standard.
Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, encouraged all the
students and said that Everyone is a scientist, and science is
for everybody and engineering is a part and parcel of the ever
developing science, More than 20 schools participated in the
event. Up to Rupees Two Lakhs was distributed towards cash
prizes in the various categories.

Principal RIET Dr Saroj Hiranwal said that the
organization looks forward to many such occasions in
which the budding engineers and the future scientists can
show their talents to the others. All the contestants were
awarded with a certificate of participation also.
SHORT TERM COURSE ON FUND RAISING FOR NEW BUSINESS START-UPS
(27-11-2017 TO 01-12-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur,
organized a one week short term course on Fund raising for
new business start-ups through ICT, from 27-11-2017 to 01-
12-2017. This was organized by the National Institute of
Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh, in
association with the Department on Master of Business
Administration, Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and
Technology, Jaipur. The event was enhanced by Dr. Saroj
Hiranwal, Principal, RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean
Academics & Admin, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET,
Ms Monika Shekhawat, HOD MBA, along with all the
respective HODs Faculty members and students who participated in the event.
Ms Monika Shekhawat, HOD MBA, said that, this workshop will give the participants an insight into the
fund raising angle for any business set up. The session proved to be highly beneficial for all the students
and faculty members who attended it
TRAINING & PLACEMENT
As a responsibility to provide an opportunity to every student to secure their future with a job placement.
Ten companies placement drive was held in last two months. Companies offered the students a minimum
package of 1.85 LPA and highest package 27 LPA.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMMUNICATION & COMPUTATIONAL
TECHNOLOGIES (ICCCT 2017)
(08-12-2017 TO 09-12-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur organized a two day International Conference
on Communication & Computational Technologies (ICCCT 2017) on 8th and 9th December, 2017.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. N.P. Kaushik , Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.
Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the organizers for
having this event in the college, he also said that seminars of
this kind helps to communicate and spread knowledge and
awareness among the professionals.
Prof. A.K. Dwivedi, Controller of Examination, RTU, Kota,
highly praised the organizing team and said that the
conference was very beneficial for all those who attend it.
Prof. B. K. Panigarhi, Professor, Electrical Engineering, IIT
Delhi was the key
note speaker on this
occasion. His discourse was mainly on how computational
techniques can be applied for optimization algorithms. He used
the example of particle swarm optimization technique.
Ms. Neenu Kumari, Project Manager, Link Group, Sydney,
Australia, who is also an alumnus of RIET spoke on the
occasion. She was very happy to be a part of the conference and
gave a wonderful presentation on the subject.
Mr. Rajesh Sheoran, Lead Business Analyst ,Qantus Loyalty, Sydney, also a speaker on the occasion spoke
about the field of computational technologies.
Principal RIET Dr Saroj Hiranwal, also chairperson of International Conference on Communication &
Computational Technologies (ICCCT 2017), said that this International Conference aims to communicate
and spread knowledge on cutting edge research being carried out globally in the field of engineering and
technology.

On the occasion of the valediction ceremony on 09-12-20177,
the chief guest was Prof. Rajeev Gupta, Pro-vice chancellor
Rajasthan technical university of Kota. Principal RIET Dr Saroj
Hiranwal said that more than 100 research papers have been
received out of
which 65 have
been selected. The
selected papers
will be published in
Scopus, ACM & UGC approved journals.
The
conference
proved to be
highly
beneficial to all the participants and students. As it was a
day long programme (both days) all the participants
interacted with each other and spent quality time in the
company of experts. We felt so honored with the presence
of Miss Neenu Kumari, Project Manager, Link Group,
Sydney, Australia(Alumnus of RIET) & Mr. Rajesh Sheoran,
Lead Business Analyst ,Qantus Loyalty, Sydney,they had a
very interac tive session with the students.
ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CAREER OPPURTUNITY IN ABROAD
(08-12-2017)
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur hosted an one day International Workshop on
08-12-2017, for B tech students. The topic of the session was Career Oppurtunity in Abroad . The

speaker on this occasion was Ms Neenu Mahalawat, Project Manager, Link Group, Sydney, Australia, who
is also an alumnus of
RIET.
Ms. Neenu Mahalawat
shared her experience
about her journey in Link
Group. In the
questionnaire session,
which was held post lunch
break, Ms Neenu
Mahalawat interacted
with the students. She guided students about the various oppurtunities and goal setting in their career.
She also guided students how they can achieve the desired field of interest in which they want to explore,
and to get these goals students first need to focus for the same. Students found this workshop very
beneficial. We are highly obliged that Ms. Neenu Mahalawat shared her valuable views with our students.
ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON RECENT TRENDS IN SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT

Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur
hosted an one day International Workshop on 09-12-2017, for
the entire B tech, MBA & MCA students. The topic was Recent
Trends in Software
Development . The
guest of honor was Mr.
Rajesh Sheoran, Lead
Business Analyst
,Qantus Loyalty,
Sydney. We are very
thankful to Mr. Rajesh Sheoran as they contribute some time
from their hectic schedule for our students. They tell the
importance of the software development. Software becomes the
important part of everyone s lives. So, he shared his valuable thoughts regarding the need and recent
trends of the software. On behalf of Management of RIET, We acknowledge our gratitude to you.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
(15-12-2017)

Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology was indeed
fortunate to host a FDP on Student development and enhancement
of the young learners. This FDP was taken by Mr. Desh Deepak
Johari of Gaziabad.
Mr Johari is an engineer from JMI in ME. He is a gold medalist with
honors (2006-2008) batch. The FDP was graced by Dr Saroj
Hiranwal, Principal RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics
& Admin, RIET, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, along
with all the respective HODs & Faculty members who participated
in the event.
The FDP was based and focused on student s development of all
angles and further on their basic development and placements.
Mr Johari said that the main problem regarding internships and placements is Skills. He suggested that
students should have English and skill development classes up to 3rd year in all engineering colleges. The
FDP was interactive and all faculties gave in their inputs.
Principal, RIET, Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, said that we look forward to many such FDPs as these are very useful
and helpful for the faculties.
Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, said that definitely the inputs are very useful.
Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, said that the intellectuals of RIET have definitely attended a
wonderful programme.
HIGHER EDUCATION & HUMAN RESOURCE CONCLAVE
(21-12-2017 TO 22-12-2017)
Employability of youth is major challenge in India at present.
According to United Nations labor report, it is predicted that
unemployment will be an issue in coming years. At the same
time some reports also say that more than 60% out of eight
lakh engineers graduating from technical education
institutes stay
unemployed
every year.
This is a big
challenge.
But as it is
said, every challenge can be seen as an opportunity too.
And this challenge of unemployment can be seen as
opportunity and help our country to become the
Innovation, Entrepreneurial Hub of the World.

Jaipur, under the leadership of Dr. Saroj Hiranwal,
is leaving no stone unturned to bring paradigm
shift to the higher education scenario by giving
dedicated focus on nurturing innovations,
entrepreneurship to make youth employable and
generate employment. At the same time role of
Industry becomes all the more important to
collaborate with governments to help in
addressing the issues related to unemployment.
In this context, the Department of Higher &
Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan ,
along with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, Asia &
Middle East s premier media & technology
research organization, organized Higher Education & Human Resource Conclave in Jaipur, Rajasthan in
December 2017. It was a two day engagement with the
government officials and HRs from different industry

summit and encouraged the delegates to collaborate

initiatives. The day ended with beautiful cultural
program presented by Rajasthan sangeet sansthan.
On day two, HRs from different industry had a talk with all the academician and education experts from
Rajasthan. The discussions was focused on HR s Role in the Changing Scenario of Employment, Innovation
& Entrepreneurship in New India, Redefining HR Spectrum by Leveraging Technology, Industry Academia
Collaboration to Bridge Skill Gap, Developing & Ensuring Corporate Culture through Innovation,
Addressing Challenges Faced by HR: The Present & Future Solutions. In this interaction academicians also
participate to put their point of view. Some of the delegates who shared their words of vision are –Shri
