PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE:

Dear Parents/Carers, Students visit my office for a

range of reasons but some of the

most rewarding celebrate great

learning. This week students from

a number of classes have shared

quality learning with me. Kindy

students have written complex

sentences, other students have

explained the value of fertilizers

for fruit trees in our gardens, Mr

Bell's lunchtime bike group set out

for a quick spin between

lessons and Henry and Lewis

whipped up a delicious batch of

scones. To top off this eventful

week at BVPS our Stage 2

netballers had a great day at the

local Gala day playing other

schools.

BVPS is very proud of our Staff

member, Marcus Mundy, as he

e n t e r s h i s p r o f e s s i o n a l

experience training to be a

teacher over the coming weeks.

Marcus is fortunate to be

spending 3 weeks teaching

alongside former BVPS teacher

Richard Lane at Pambula PS.

This week our Year 5&6

students and staff are

experiencing the fun and

challenges of camp life at

Jindabyne Sport & Rec. The 4

day camp encourages children to

face challenging tasks such as

rock climbing, high ropes

courses, bushcraft and hopefully

achieve the walk to Australia's

highest peak, Mt Kosciusko. The

camp activities promote team

building and cooperation skills.

Already the photos indicate all

are having a great time!

Words of the Week

Bike Riding Program

Our lunchtime bike riding program recommenced

on Tuesday 18th October. Students from years 3-6

are invited to bring along their bike and helmet to

partake in this program every Tuesday at lunch.

The program includes riding safely, basic riding

skills, bike maintenance and short rides along bike paths in and

around Bega Valley PS. Please note that students must bring a helmet

that fits them properly to participate.

Permission notes for new participants can be obtained from classroom

teachers.

End of Year School Disco The P&C will be hosting an end of year disco on Thursday the 8

th

of December – watch this space and Facebook for more information. P&C Meeting Our next meeting is Monday 14

th of November at

5.30pm in the staff room. All parents are welcome to attend. Agenda Items include: Term 4 disco; Canteen Management model; information for new parents, end of year disco and working bee before term 1 starts. If you know any parents with children starting school in 2017 invite them to the meeting, suggest they join school stream and

join the school Facebook page.

Canteen Wednesday Special Wk 6 and 7 The special lunch order item is a nachos (Corn chips with Bolognese Sauce and cheese) for $4. Also be sure to check the black board for daily specials starting at 50c.

School Stream App

The P&C is very supportive of the school’s move to start using the School Stream App. You can download this App for free at the ITunes store or the equivalent App store for non-Apple phones. The School will use this App to get information like newsletters, bus breakdowns, absent notes, excursion details etc out to parents. Once you have downloaded the App you will be able to sign up to Bega Public School and get all the alerts in real time as they are posted.
