Campaspe Shire staff have contacted us to ask that parents do not park on
the east side of the school oval (near the half basketball court). A barricade
was put there but has since been removed. Parents are welcome to park at
the back of the oval.
The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of
Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly se-
lected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of
parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student en-
gagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct fu-
ture school planning and improvement strategies.
A random selection of approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to
participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are
anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from
Monday 22rd July to Sunday 11th August.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to com-
plete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the field-
work period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
I hope you have all enjoyed
your holidays and are refreshed
for another busy term ahead.
It has been fantastic to walk into
Echuca East this week after
spending term 2 at Rochester PS
and be greeted by so many
smiles and warm welcomes. It
was a great experience and I
learnt a lot throughout the term,
but as the saying goes, “Once
an Eastie, always an Eastie”. It is
great to be back! It is also excit-
ing to be Acting Principal again
this term, while working alongside
Ben Holmfield in the Acting Assistant Principal position. Of course, Lyn Strachan
is spending the term over at Twin Rivers PS as the Acting Principal while they go
through the process of selecting their new principal this term. Lyn will do an
amazing job as I look forward to her return in term 4.
But for now...
Lindy Burke—
The app that every parent needs.
In an Australian first, we have just launched a free app
called Child360. It provides practical tools and a clear
pathway for parents to help identify and manage the
mental health needs of their children.
Our Director, Brad Morgan says the app was developed
after recognising that all families face challenges that
can impact children’s mental and emotional wellbeing
and that it can be daunting for parents to know where to begin looking for help.
“The Child360 app gives parents a simple, trustworthy, pro-active tool for taking stock of their children’s social
and emotional
wellbeing,” Mr Morgan said.
“It can be a powerful starting point for parents who are confused or overwhelmed.”
Child360 allows parents to develop a confidential profile of their child and answer questions about areas such
as:
parent-child relationships
emotions and behaviour
routines
communication, and
support networks.
After answering the questions, parents select an area to work on and then choose from three levels of action,
including:
Accessing information through articles, videos and podcasts.
Speaking to someone via an online or phone service.
Echuca East Primary has been awarded a term
with the 2018 AFL Dreamtime Collingwood
Indigenous Guernsey for its outstanding
contribution towards Reconciliation and Koori
Culture.
We are the first school outside of the Bendigo
region to be awarded with this prestigious
award.
