Week 6 Term 4 WEDNESDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 2017
PRINCIPAL’S NEWS It is hard to believe it is only about five weeks until Christmas, the year has absolutely flown. Those tiny shy kindergarten children that first stepped into our school at the beginning of the year are now confident Branxton Public School students; reading, singing, public speaking and involvement in so many aspects of school life. At the other end of the spectrum, our Year 6 students are preparing themselves for the next adventure into high school. Stage 3 staff have organised a range of activities to celebrate their conclusion to Primary school. I was very proud to listen to the leadership speeches recently, twenty four students were nominated for the positions. Their speeches were outstanding and it would have been a very difficult task narrowing the list down to ten students. However, five boys and five girls were voted, by Year 5 students, to speak at the whole school assembly on Monday. I would like to wish all of these students the very best and I feel confident that we will have excellent school leadership in 2018. Unfortunately the school was broken into on the weekend with several items either stolen or damaged, resulting in a loss to the school of thousands of dollars. The police were called and the forensics team also visited the school. If you saw anyone in the school grounds over the weekend or anyone acting suspiciously could you please inform me as soon as possible. Could I remind you that if you are bringing pets into the school, we have a Department Policy on this matter that must be adhered to. Could you please request the appropriate documents to complete from the office? I am an animal lover and love to see our fur babies. However, we also have students who have allergies to certain types of dog, cat fur and bird feathers, so we obviously need to be mindful of this too. I appreciate your support in this matter. Looking forward to a busy and eventful conclusion to the
year.

Letter from Student to Principal
Dear Mrs Maier,
We are boiling like broth on the stove. We need blinds because
we feel sick, it’s hard to concentrate and our eyes feel like
they’re melting.
Did you know that children get so sick and sometimes they have
to go to hospital and that’s why you have so many 1/2O students
I n sick bay?
It’s so hard to concentrate. One fun fact did you know you
concentrate way better when your cooler.
Our eyes are melting like Macadamia ice-cream. We can barely
see the smart board because it’s so blurry. Our eyes are
watering and making a huge salt water river.
In conclusion, it is imperative that we get blinds because we feel
sick, it’s hard to concentrate and our eyes feel like they’re
melting.
Your sizzling sausage,
Lara
CHRISTMAS CARDS Due to allergies we ask that Christmas cards NOT include any food. It is a lovely gesture however it is not suitable for school. Thank you for you support with this.
