PRESIDENT’S NOTES

We are down to the count down. One month to go until our garage sale on November 7. Here are the ground rules for the sale: (1, Put a rea-sonable price on your items. (2, All monies gained at the sale go to the Lakes Area Rods & Classics General fund. If your item doesn't sell, it is your responsibility to take it back, or make arrangements with some-one else to take care of it for you. We will be ready for setup at 7 AM on the square in Burnet. I'm sure there may be a few changes at the meeting. If there are any major changes, an info e-mail will be sent out. Bob

Howdy all y'all LARC club members, here we are again, yup newsletter time.. Here goes.

What we Did

We had a real good club meetin on Sept. 8th. at the Library, I again realized what a fine club this is and I'm proud to be a member !!!!!! Anyway movin rirght along, Normally I don't say anythin about wed. mornin breakfast but seems that there are a lot of people whom are crazy enough to roll out of bed Really Early, get dressed then drive to Storm's to be with some great people and have coffee and somethin to eat. Folks we had 29 ladies an gentlemen, uhhh, well there were 29 club members havin breakfast together. Storm's was rockin out.

On Sept. 19th. the club caravaned to Mason with 17 cars and helped our good friend Jim Boies get through his birthday, What a great turnout, with our club and friends of Jim's there were probably over 60 peo-ple.And again as this was a potluck, the food was wonderful, Wow there are some good cooks in our club. Jim said he had a great time and thanked every one for participating. Happy Birthday Jim.

On Sat. the 26th.we're caravaning to the Comanche Car Show, leavin Don Craw's house at 8:am...

What we're Goin' to Do

Oct.2nd. 5:pm is Friday Night Fever at Cecil's, Some of the club is meetin at Mamas Home Cookin in Bur-net before FNF at 4:pm y'all are invited.Their food is supposed to be purdy good....

Oct.3rd. is the cruise-in at Storms in Marble Falls, last month over 40 cars showed up, some weren't LARC members?????? , but The members who showed up had a good time...

Oct.12th.10:am We will meet with our club cars at the Country Oaks Assisted Living Home at 407 West Jackson for a little community service with the residents, do a little visiting have a sody-pop or coffee, make the folks feel good ..

Oct.17th.is the Crosswater Yacht Club Car Show from noon to 6:pm.... info. and registration at crosswa-teryachtclub.com or 512 261 5253... also, this is the night of the Hill Country Children' s Advocacy Ban-

quet... info to follow from Pres. Bob D... .

Oct.25th. is a get together at Rayford Reese's Showroom of Large and Impressive Cars at 2:pm in Granite Shoals.

Well I think that about covers all things important, so I'll say TA TA FOR NOW and you know the endin!!

Joni Wollek of Pack Saddle Elementary– She wanted to join and wanted to explain all the wonderful

things that happened with the LARC donations. The students are still talking about the day the LARC

came to visit and show off their HOTRODS! They all were able to buy a copy of “The One and Only

Ivan”. A copy was given as a gift to pass around to the club to follow along with the class. It is a tear

jerker!!! BE WARNED! Children who met their reading goals will be recognized and the winner will

receive a bike. It’s so amazing to see how good works and donations can go a long way in helping

our community and you are welcome to join by helping the school in any capacity you are able to!

Secretary’s Report

The minutes were sent out to the members at large. We added Gerald Hudson’s name to the minutes to a motion that only contained his first name and refreshments will not

be stopped at the meetings, only the drinks. Also there was a misprint with Tom Ander-sons name, I mis-transcribed “John”. All corrections have been made and passed for

approval.

ACTION: A motion to accept these changes was asked for by Bob Deets- *D.D. Peham

so moved and Marie Misfeldt seconded the motion, which was passed by 100% of the membership, and 0 opposed.

Treasurer’s Report Barbara Weber

ACTION: No action made on the treasurer’s report.

We are still waiting on the names and information from the members regarding the di-

rectory. If we do not receive enough participation we will not press forward with the di-rectory this year. Please submit your information to Shirley Anderson.

November 7th– the City Wide Garage Sale in Burnet Square (More information to come)

anything that you donate will be on sale. If you bring it there, it MUST have a price tag on it. If it doesn’t sell, you MUST take it back home!! Set-up time is 6:00AM and it is

required you stay till 2 or 3 PM you can sell water/coke and baked goods as well. We will be located on the east side in front of the court house.

Lion’s Club Show and Shine - Marble Falls this also on November 7th please keep that in

mind when planning your calendars.

NEW BUSINESS BOB DEETS

We received a thank you letter from Kristen Harris at the CASA and she would like us to

know how much donations like ours truly help the children of our community. She would also like us to know that there are 198 children that CASA is currently advocating

for and with the help of 70 volunteers they rely on donations to keep things running.

Something we may consider is taking out an ad in the Hill Country Car Culture Maga-

zine for the club. We will table it for now and pick it up at the next meeting to discuss further details.

Remember you must order your club merchandise from Patsy or Brian Craven. Decals for your Car/Trucks are now available in both sticky and cling-on. You can put

them wherever you want your window your hood your butt…no one cares ☺. Cost for

the sticky ones are $2.00 and for the cling-ons its $1.00.
