Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. We are booked in to a number of guided tours at a range of venues. On Monday 3 August we will participate in a one-hour “Discovery Tour” at the National Gallery of Australia, as well as an interactive learning activity at the Australian War Memorial on “Australia and the Second World War”. In the evening, we will spend our leisure time at a local ice-skating rink before retiring to our accommodation at the Canberra City Youth Hostel. On the second day of our tour, Tuesday 4 August, we will engage in Parliament House tour, a tour of the High Court of Australia and a tour of the National Museum of Australia. We are very blessed to live in a country that recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their civics and citizenship education. The Australian government is contributing funding towards the trip under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program. Students in Year 9 and 10 can look forward to the educational benefits of the excursion, as well as the opportunity to get to know each other beer and to have fun together. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 2015 ICS Tongarra Auction ExtravaganzaSaturday, 1st August - 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start

The final preparations for the Auction are underway and its looking like it will be a fantastic night with lots of items to bid on.Everyone can be part of this super enjoyable night! Even if you aren’t in a position to spend a lot of money ... Please consider coming just for the social event! Come and enjoy the company of other parents and staff. You will feel part of the community and the auction bidding is a GREAT spectator sport - very amusing & entertaining! There is no pressure to bid on items (although you will find it hard to resist the great bargains.)Perhaps you could consider doing some Christmas Shopping or Birthday Shopping and this would mean no added expense to your budget? There will also be lots of inexpensive items on the silent auction. Or, we would love to have some extra helpers on the night. And this could be your contribution to this important fundraiser! There are so many inexpensive ways that you can be involved! Please come along and join in the fun.A booklet went home on Thursday (30th) with a list of some of the items that are available for Auction. Make sure you check your child's bag and have a look.Any questions please call the campus office on 4230 3700.
