Next Mustang Meeting Wednesday January 3, Zone 28 2525 Freeport Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
Greeting to All Members, Winter has arrived early. Snow is on the ground and there are school delays. But shortly the days will be getting longer and we will be closer to driving our ponies again. We had our Holiday Party at the Embassy Suites on Sunday Dec 3. And we had 79 members in attendance. A special Thank You to Charlyn Mulkey for organizing the event and for all the gifts that Charlyn and Melissa Mazur bought for us. Charlyn, Melissa and Terry Miller sang in perfect harmony for our listening enjoyment. It was a magical and festive evening. Our elections were held at the December meeting and I want to thank the members who voted for me and the other officers. A list of new officers are listed on the web page. Tim Baker is working on some new activities for us. The first may be on Jan 27 with a trip to Wheeling. Also our new MCA Director Bill Rossman will be keeping us busy. Our Jan 3 meeting will be at Zone 28. Please join us!!! We will be asking members about our future meeting locations. Please note that if it is necessary to cancel the Jan 3 meeting I will notify ALL members via email.
Remember to check the website https://gpmc.org/ or our Facebook page when there is bad weather for any
cancellations.

Combined Board and General Meeting Minutes
Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club – December 6, 2017 The meeting was called to order by Danielle Lane 7:40 PM, at Zone 28 Harmarville, PA. The sign-in sheet was passed around, and the 50/50 was sold by Bob & Muriel Stewart. New Members and Guests: None Announcements: Bob Goetz, Dee Souleret, and Rick Kaminsky have all had surgery recently and Jacquie Uhler has been in the hospital as well. We are wishing them all well during this holiday season. Elections are being held this evening. Three service awards were given out at the Holiday party and two of the honorees that weren’t at the party are here at the meeting tonight. Mary Hutton and Carol & John Holmes were given their awards. Mark Morrow was also a recipient of an award but was given that at the Christmas party. Congratulations and thank you for all your work and service to the club. Minutes: The November Meeting Minutes were reviewed. It was moved by Mark Mulkey and 2
nd by Jeff Bilka to
approve the minutes. Motion carried. Treasurer's Report: Jason Uhler gave his report and said that he had a few large deposits from the Holiday Party, Fall Foliage tour and membership dues. Our three newsletter advertisers have renewed for next year and Jason received those monies. Most of the costs incurred this month were mainly from the holiday party. It was moved by Mark Morrow and 2
nd by Bob Quinlan to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Motion carried.
Membership: Darrell Miller stated that we had 3 new members join this month, 38 members renew which brings us to 150 members with 74 that still need to renew but many gave Darrell checks tonight. Newsletter: John Reisz is the new Newsletter editor and he reminded everyone the content is due to him by December 15
th. Please forward John any news worthy items and he will gladly put them in the newsletter.
Merchandise: Barb Pifer had new merchandise with her at the meeting, please check out her merchandise and also the website. Please see her if you would like to order anything. Webmaster: Jennie Barker added all the service award pictures and Holiday Party pictures on the website. Please check out the pictures and let Jennie know if your name is not on any pictures that you are on and she can add it. Also, she hasn’t received any feedback on the new section of the website titled “Website Feedback”. Jennie welcomes any and all feedback and suggestions for the website. Jennie also stated that she renewed our website for 2018. MCA: Ed Saitz stated that Jennie has listed the 2018 MCA national shows on the website. If anyone is an MCA judge, please let Ed know so that he can register you under our club. Activities/Upcoming Events: Tim Baker was not able to attend the meeting but sent an email update in which Danielle Lane asked if anyone would be interested in either of the following events:
1) Saturday trip to Wheeling, WV--casino in the afternoon, then a group dinner, then a Wheeling Nailers hockey game. Tickets for the hockey game are $14 each as long as we have at least 10 participants. Those who aren't hockey fans could opt instead to view the Light Display at nearby Oglebay Park. The most likely date for this event would be Saturday, January 27, 2018.
2) Escape Room - there are several escape rooms in the Pittsburgh area. For those not familiar, an escape room is a type of game where participants are "locked" into a themed area and must solve puzzles or clues in order to escape within what is usually a 50 minute time limit. Generally, the experience is limited to about 10-12 participants at a time. But, there are a few rooms in Pittsburgh that offer start times that are only 15 minutes apart, allowing more people to participate, albeit in separate groups. We would likely follow up the escape room with a meal where we could compare notes, etc. This type of event will have to be booked a month or more in advance, depending on the number of GPMC members who would like to participate, so that we can book the rooms that are close together in start times.

Election Results: President – Danielle Lane VP – Robert Allison Treasurer – Jason Uhler MCA Director – Bill Rossmann Newsletter Editor – John Reisz Director at Large – Lisa Fricke Alternates Directors - Jerry Smith Rich Fricke Ray Radzevick After the elections were announced and Danielle asked again for volunteers to fill the two vital positions left open (Secretary and Membership Director), Ken Barker offered to fill the Membership Director position. Other: 50/50 Raffle – Winner - Karen Buell Next meeting: Wed., January 3

Our Activities Director Tim the Tour Man says…….
There are no activities scheduled for the month of December, with the Holiday Party recently occurring and the holiday season approaching. In the previous newsletter, I suggested two possible activities that I was researching. If possible, I'd like to gauge the interest in those following events:
If I could get an idea of how many people would be interested in this type of event, I can work on planning it, maybe for March.

And last, a note from the incoming editor. To the Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club This is my first Newsletter, taking the place of Scott Unger after his two years of dedicated and profound service. Scott and Carol will be moving into retirement, literally. The sunny and warm climate of South Carolina was beckoning them, and the prospect of avoiding the harsh Pittsburgh winter weather was too much to ignore. So it is now my turn to carry the torch. My wife Judy and I joined in April 2005, just a few months after buying our first Mustang. We were recruited by a former member who a few years later moved on to retirement to very sunny and warm Florida (do you see a pattern here?). We have enjoyed some very fulfilling experiences and friendships as club members, and in fact two of my brothers and their spouses are members now too.
Since I no longer work (retired…yahoo! But NOT moving south), I’ve decided that the timing is right to give back to the Club and contribute more of my time and ideas than I have in the past. Hopefully, the Club will find my contributions most beneficial. Thanks in advance for your support and I look forward to a great tenure as your Editor. Happy Holidays!
John
