You will not be allowed to enter the main festival until you’ve exchanged your ticket for your festival wristband. Your tickets will be exchanged for your festival wristband at the accreditation.

Further details of how to collect your wristband can be found later in this pack on page 12.

Weekend ticket holders will be able to leave and re-enter the festival using their wristband however there is no re-entry for single day or after party ticket holders.

Afro Nation Ghana is a cashless festival. Your festival wristband will have an RFID chip that you load up to make all your on-site purchases. This includes, bars, food, merchandise and other retail. Top up points will be available on and around the festival site and Top Up can be purchased with cash or card.

If you have purchased Top Up online in advance of the festival, please bring the print out ticket of this with you to the festival accreditation and this will be added to your wristband when you collect it.

Don’t lose your wristband. We will not replace them!Wristbands will be placed on to the wrist of the named customer for that wristband. Wristbands will not be given out to take to the other people not present at accreditation. Every person must come to accreditation to collect their own wristband.

If your wristband has been purchased by someone other than yourself, they MUST be with you to collect your wristband and have a copy of their identification.

STEP1Make sure you have all of your festival tickets (e-ticket and/or physical), Identification (Preferably photographic) and payment card to claim your festival wristband. Please note, if you have got a new card then bring that along too.

Double check you also have your after-party tickets and/or pre-purchased Top Up with you to redeem at the same time as your festival wristband. Please note that after party wristbands will NOT be available for collection at the after parties.

Head down to the relevant Accreditation point. We highly recommend collecting your wristband on 26th December, please see important location information on next page.

How to buy food, drink & merchandise on site

Afro Nation Ghana is a cashless event. An RFID chip in your wristband will be used for all purchases at bars, food and merchandise stalls at Afro Nation Festival.

Topping up yourwristband

*Wristband TOP UP can be purchased from the top-up pointsaround the festival site and also in advance of the festival onlinehere – afronationvouchers.eventgenius.co.uk

If you purchase TOP UP in advance of the festival, please bring your ticket for your TOP UP to the main festival accreditation where it will be added to your wristband on arrival.

ACTIVATION FEE

Please note: All wristbands will incur a $1.00 activation fee. The activation fee is wavered when activating band with an advance purchased TOP UP voucher.

Weekend ticket holders, refund what you don’t spend at the end of the event, this can be done on-site from 6pm on Monday 30th Dec until 6pm on Tuesday 31st December.

NO REFUNDS FOR DAY TICKET HOLDERS. WEEKEND TICKET HOLDERS ONLY.

*Cashless wristbands can also be topped up on site using cashor card at various TOP UP locations around the festival site only.

Hospitality Table guests will be able to make both RFID and card payments

Main Festival Area

Entrance to the main festival site is included with your festival wrist-band. Please exchange your ticket for your festival wristband before entering the main festival area.

Please note you are not able to bring bottles / liquids or aerosol cans into the main festival area. Roll on deodorant, sunscreen and small bags (A4 sized) are allowed.

Cashless wristbands will be used for purchases throughout festival and can be topped up at various points around the festival site.

The festival site is located directly on the beach next to Labadi hotel, you will be on sand, so please wear appropriate footwear, protect yourself from the sun and look after your valuables.

Be careful when drinking alcohol in the sun for long periods and please drink lots of water. Frequently apply sunscreen and spend time in the shade. If you are feeling unwell, please visit the medical tent or alert a member of staff.

Food is available at various points around the festival site and can only be purchased with your wristband.

Sandbox Day Parties

In addition to the main festival arena we will be holding day parties at the Sandbox venue from 12:00 – 17:00 each day of the festival.

Access to these parties will be included with VIP festival wristbands and will not be available for day ticket or GA weekend ticket holders.

The Sandbox venue is located ten minutes in a vehicle west of the main site along the coastline and has a limited capacity of 1,000 attendees. Entry will be based on first come first served.

Official after partiesAfter parties will be held at Stage 2 within the

main festival site.

After party wristbands will only be available for collection at accreditation when you first check in, in exchange for your after-party ticket. They will not be available for collection at the after party itself.

All after party wristband holders can access the after party area via the main festival site opposite the main stage.

Top Tips

ON-SITE MEDICALThere will be medics stationed within the main festival site, alert any member of festival staff if you’re feeling unwell.

DRUGS WARNINGAs a festival we have a no tolerance to drugs policy,

anyone found to be in the possession of illegal drugs will have their festival wristband removed and

they will be handed over to the police.

PASSPORTLook after your passport. Take a

photocopy of your passport with you, leave one at your

hotel & carry one with you.

PERSONAL BELONGINGSWe’d not recommend bringing your iPad / laptop or anything too valuable into the festival with you, always be aware of your personal possessions and don't leave them unattended.

LOST PROPERTYDuring the festival, the lost property point will be by accreditation at the main site entrance.

TIME ZONETime in Ghana is the same as in

the UK. (GMT)

CURRENCYThe official Ghanaian currency is the Cedi. This can be bought easily at the bank, the post office or at the airport before departing or there are cash machines across the town of Accra.

TEMPERATUREThe average daytime temperature is

around 30° in Accra. Although the evenings are quite pleasant, you’ll

probably want to pack some warmer things to wear at night.

ENVIRONMENTPlease respect the local community, put your litter in the bin and keep noise to a minimum.

Please be aware that wearing military clothing including camouflage is

prohibited in Ghana.
