After completing some circuits in Waterford, departing for Shannon on another navigation exercise. Further circuit work (dual and solo) is completed at Shannon before parking up and staying in a local hotel for the night. A daytime VFR flight is then made early the next morning back to Weston Airport. There is no examination required to achieve a nigh rating. The aim of the Night Flying Course is to provide the pilot with the skills and understanding necessary to safely fly an aircraft at night. NFC pre-requisite is that students that wish to undertake the night rating must hold a PPL and must have at least 70 hours of total time. As the night rating is completed in the Cessna 172 it is a requirement that students have at least 5 hours experience in the Cessna 172.
