Warmest Regards,

Dr Norliza ALIPaediatric Cardiology Symposium Scientific Chairperson 2018

WELCOME MESSAGE MPCS 2018Dear friends and colleagues,

Greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

On behalf of the Malaysian Paediatric Cardiac Society (MPCS), it is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to our annual Paediatric Cardiology Symposium, to be held on the 13th - 14th April 2018 at the Hilton-Le MeridienHotel, Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with the National Heart Association of Malaysia (NHAM) annual scientificmeetings. This symposium continues to provide an avenue for the annual gathering for all the Paediatric Cardiacfraternities in Malaysia and the neighbouring countries.

The theme for this years’ symposium is The Valves: An intriguing affair.. As the theme suggested, managing thevalve diseases have always being an intriguing affair. Despite managing the valves for decades, certain aspectsremained to be mind-boggling, especially when it comes to identifying the valve pathology. In this symposium,we will learn how to assess the valves correctly, what the surgeons would like to know, the most recent excitinginterventions, and many more.

We have managed to gather some of the world experts on managing and assessing the valves. There will bethought-stimulating and provoking plenary lectures as well as the traditional debate between the PaediatricCardiologist and the Congenital Surgeon. More importantly, this symposium will be an avenue to close ranks andfoster camaraderie amongst the Paediatric Cardiac fraternities.

Finally, I would like to welcome you to Kuala Lumpur, the metropolitan city of South East Asia, with its vibrantpeople and gastronomic haven.

Please enjoy the symposium and the city of Kuala Lumpur. I will be all over the conference, and would like topersonally meet and warmly welcome each and every one of you. We look forward to welcoming you to MPCSSymposium 2018.
