• Offers an entertaining, enjoyable and educational insight for visitors into the industrial and social heritage of the former Somerset Coalfield.

• Independent Museum run almost entirely by volunteers

• The only fully accredited (ACE) B&NES Museum outside Bath

• A registered charity

• Receives no funding from national or local government

• The collection includes some 37000 artefacts, including a digitised archive of 15000 photographs and documents

• Replica coalmine with audiovisual effects and smells
