myself and explaining the current unit of study. 11/18 Called and spoke with ________, ___________'s mother. Told her that

_______ is doing much better this quarter and that she had one of the highest scores on the first test. Mentioned that I can tell that ________ has putting in more effort recently. I also told her that this unit will be the toughest unit of the year and that it will be important to work together to make sure that ______ continues to work hard. _________ told me to email her anytime and that she is eager to collaborate to help ________.

11/18 Sent a follow-up email to __________ explaining in more detail the

current unit of study and what assignments are due soon.

Parent Communication Every student has a page in the parent

contact log. Every communication is logged and

dated. Every week I can go through the log and

see which parents I should call.

Next Steps Help students to understand connections between

the curriculum and life beyond high school, and they communicate the consequences of academic choices in terms of future career, school and life options.

If students are struggling and off-task, examine why and use strategies to re-engage them.
