Nike Tennis Camps are designed to give every player the opportunity to improve their game in a safe, friendly and positive environment. Players are grouped with others of similar ability, regardless of age. Coaches:players ratio is 1:8 maximum.

Our coaches use demonstration, practise and feedback - including video - to improve existing shots and techniques and to develop new ones. Good players will find themselves challenged tactically, technically and physically, while developing players will learn to master the key building blocks - grip, spin, movement, power and consistency.

All players will be encouraged to take part in fitness and conditioning exercises with emphasis placed on footwork, balance and speed. There will be plenty of short set matches and competitive challenges on court... with special prizes to any players who can beat the coach!

The coaches aim to make the camp fun as well as challenging. They are used to working with players of varying abilities - from the keen developing player to young elite players already involved with the tournament circuit.

Our camps are a truly international environment, with English spoken throughout the day and an emphasis on enjoyment, personal fulfilment and achievement both on and off the court.

How will you be taught? At the start of each camp, you will take a short language test which is used to place you in an appropriate class. At the end of the camp, you can take home your workbook to show parents and friends what you have learnt. You will also receive an individual written assessment from your tutor, with advice on how to further develop your language skills.

Did you know...Project work carried out by students in our most advanced classes focuses on communication skills and helps to prepare students for exams such as: IGCD, IELTS, Trinity and ESB.

Accelerate your English Learning!

Our accelerated English teaching model centres around the benefits of teaching English in an inspiring sports environment. English will be spoken both in the classroom and on the court. A total of 25 hours will be spent in the classroom, using the very best teaching aids to teach a stimulating, sports-relevant curriculum. Teacher:student ratio is 1:16 maximum.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the tennis coaching work? Camps are open to players of all abilities. The coaches are multi-qualified. All players play with others of a similiar ability.

Does my child need a certain level of English? No. We encourage you to prepare your child that he/she will be spoken to in English for the majority of time on camp. Children are put into English teaching groups based on ability after an entry test on arrival.

Who looks after the children? The CMT support team includes a full time physiotherapist and an extensive pastoral care team, who live on site. CMT’s pastoral care team is in place to look after children at all times. We aim to ensure that all children feel safe and always have someone to talk to. Children (and parents!) can be secure in the knowledge that they have their own ‘support group’ just as they would at home.

Will tennis kit be provided? Each child receives a Nike Kit Pack. Bring your own shoes and racket.

What kit should my child bring? • A pair of Nike non-marking tennis trainers• Wet-weather clothing• Tracksuit• T-shirts, jeans and shorts• Warm sweater/ jumper• Nightwear, underwear and socks• Casual jacket• 2 towels• Toiletries, sun cream and sun hat• Power adapter for a standard British 3-pin socket

Are all meals provided? Yes. 3 meals a day are provided on-site with plenty of options. On excursions students will receive a packed lunch. Menus take into account the amount of activity and sport played. Vegetarian options are offered as well as choices of hot meat or fish dishes, seasonal vegetables, salads, bread, desserts and fruit. Students are also given an evening snack.

Will my child need pocket money? This is entirely up to you. All the food and accommodation is provided, along with all the excursions. Children may wish to bring some money for souvenirs and extra drinks/snacks.

How can I contact my child on site? We recommend that each child has their own mobile phone to contact you from. The camp will also have an emergency contact phone and you will be given that number before the camp starts.

What happens to my child’s passport and valuables? We ask children to give us their passports, tickets, money and valuables when they check in. All valuables will be kept in the camp ‘bank’ and given out at certain times of the day.

Can you meet my child at the airport? Yes.• Inform us of your child’s arrival and

departure flight details• A designated member of staff will be there to

greet your child• A taxi or coach will transport your child to camp

with our staff• For return journeys we will escort your child to the airport

and check them in for their flight

Is there a laundry service on site? Yes. Depending on the venue, this is either free or a small fee is charged. Staff will ensure children are putting out their clothes to wash.

Is there accessible internet/Wi-Fi? Depending on the venue, children can either access free Wi-Fi around the site or have access to an IT computer room. The times of use are limited.

Who will my child be sharing a room with? We arrange room shares by age. Girls and boys are accommodated in separate areas. We try to accommodate room requests where we can but this cannot be guaranteed and we look for your understanding when this is not possible.

What happens if my child is unwell or injured? Our staff will assess the severity of the child’s condition. We will make the decision as to whether he/she needs to see a doctor or needs treatment at the local hospital. If emergency treatment is needed, we make every effort to contact parents/guardians beforehand.
