• OFFERING OF BREAD• PRIEST: Blessed are you, • Lord God of all creation, • for through your goodness we

• It will become for us the bread of life.

• All: Blessed be God for ever.

69

70

offerings of your Church, for in your mercy you have given them to be offered and by your power you transform them

• into the mystery of our salvation.

Lord our God.• All: It is right and just.

73

• It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.

• For, bringing your Paschal Mystery to completion, you bestowed the Holy Spirit today on those you made your adopted children by uniting them to your Only Begotten Son.

74

• This same Spirit, as the Church came to birth, opened to all peoples the knowledge of God and brought together the many languages of the earth in profession of the one faith.

75

• Therefore, overcome with paschal joy, every land, every people exults in your praise and even the heavenly Powers, with the angelic hosts, sing together the unending hymn of your glory, as they acclaim:

76

• Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts,

• Heaven and earth are full • of your glory.• Hosanna in the highest.• Blessed is he who comes • in the name of the Lord.• Hosanna in the highest.

77

• It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord.

• In his Precursor, Saint John the Baptist, we praise your great glory, for you consecrated him for a singular honor among those born of woman.

78

• His birth brought great rejoicing, even in the womb he leapt for joy at the coming of human salvation. He alone of all the prophets pointed out the Lamb of redemption.

• And to make holy the flowing waters, he baptized the very author of Baptism

79

• Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.

• Hosanna in the highest.• Blessed is he who comes • in the name of the Lord.• Hosanna in the highest.

80

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II • You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the

fount of all holiness.

• Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,

• so that they may become for us the Body and + Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

81

• At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion,

• he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:

• Take this, all of you, and eat of it: for this is my Body which will be given up for you.

82

• In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying:

• Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many

• for the forgiveness of sins.  • Do this in memory of me.

83

• Cel: The mystery of faith.• 1) We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and

profess your Resurrection until you come again.

• Or• 2) When we eat this Bread and drink this

Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again.

• Or • 3) Save us, Savior of the world, for by your

Cross and Resurrection you have set us free.

84

• Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.

85

• Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

• Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with (N) our Pope and (N) our Bishop and all the clergy.

86

• In Masses for the Dead:Remember your servant N., whom you have called (today) from this world to yourself.  Grant that he (she) who was united with your Son in a death like his, may also be one with him in his Resurrection.

87

• Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face.

88

• Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

89

• Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father,

• in the unity of the Holy Spirit, • all glory and honor is yours, • for ever and ever.• PEOPLE: Amen.

• PRIEST: The Lord be with you.• All: And with your spirit.• PRIEST: Lift up your hearts.• All: We lift them up to the Lord.• PRIEST: Let us give thanks to the

134

• PREFACE I OF SUNDAYS IN ORDINARY TIME

• It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord.

135

• For through his Paschal Mystery, he accomplished the marvelous deed, by which he has freed us from the yoke of sin and death, summoning us to the glory of being now called a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,

136

• a people for your own possession, to proclaim everywhere your mighty works, for you have called us out of darkness into your own wonderful light. And so, with Angels and Archangels, with Thrones and Dominions,

137

• and with all the hosts and Powers of heaven, we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim:

138

• Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts,

• Heaven and earth are full • of your glory.• Hosanna in the highest.• Blessed is he who comes • in the name of the Lord.• Hosanna in the highest.

139

• EUCHARISTIC PRAYER III• You are indeed Holy, O Lord, and

all you have created rightly gives you praise, for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease to gather a people to yourself,

140

• so that from the rising of the sun to its setting a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.

• Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you: by the same Spirit graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration, that they may become the Body and Blood of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.

141

• For on the night he was betrayed he himself took bread, and giving you thanks he said the blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying:

• Take this, all of you, and eat of it: for this is my Body which will be given up for you.

142

• In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and giving you thanks he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

• Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant; which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

• Do this in memory of me.

143

• Therefore, O Lord, we celebrate the memorial of the saving Passion of your Son, his wondrous Resurrection and Ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice.

144

• Look, we pray, upon the oblation of your Church, and, recognizing the sacrificial Victim by whose death you willed to reconcile us to yourself, grant that we, who are nourished by the Body and Blood of your Son and filled with his Holy Spirit, may become one body, one spirit in Christ.

145

• May he make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs (with Saint N.: the Saint of the day or Patron Saint) and with all the Saints, on whose constant intercession in your presence we rely for unfailing help.

146

• May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation, we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim Church on earth, with your servant (N) our Pope and (N) our Bishop, the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, and the entire people you have gained for your own.

147

• Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you have summoned before you: in your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world.

In Masses for the dead, the next part may be used > page 162

148

• *To our departed brothers and sisters and to all who were pleasing to you at their passing from this life, give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy for ever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.*
