3 Object/Parameter description
This section gives the description of customer available objects
and parameters.
Introduction
Parameters belong to a containing object. Object descriptions can
be found in the first volume.
In the volumes 2 to 9, the parameters are grouped by Network
Element: CNode, INode, NodeB,
OAM, POC7K, POC15K (each volume is dedicated to 1 Network Element)
and by containing object
(those objects being alphabetically sorted for each Network
Element).
For further information on the parameters network engineering,
please contact your Account
Manager who will support you into getting the UTRAN Parameters
User Guide (UPUG) issued by
Alcatel-Lucent Wireless Network Engineering group.
Object description
RNC objects have a unique name different from their name.
NodeB and OAM objects have a unique name equal to their name.
In each volume (from volume 2 to 9), the objects are sorted by
alphabetical order according to their
Unique Name.
For each object, the following general information are
presented:
• presence: the value of this field can be "optional" or
"required"
• onlineCreation: the value of this field can be
"AllowedWithParent" or "Allowed" or "NotAllowed".
• onlineDeletion: the value of this field can be
"AllowedWithParent" or "Allowed" or "NotAllowed".
• verbs: the value of this field can be "add" or/and
"delete", and it is used for Passport provisioning.
• parents: this field gives the list of the containing
objects
• children: this field gives the list of the contained
objects
• identifiers: this field gives the list of the identifiers,
and for each one, the corresponding IDcategory, IDqualifier,
IDscope, Mininstances, Maxinstances as follows:
Name IDcategory IDqualifier IDscope Mininstances Maxinstances
Parameter description
• parameter name
• domain: the three kinds of domains are:
— RNC: parameters are part of the RNC MIB definition and are
hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element RNC
— BTS: parameters are part of the BTS MIB definition and are
hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element BTS
— IN: parameters are part of the Inode MIB definition and are
hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element Inode
— AN: parameters are part of the Anode MIB definition and are
hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element Anode
— OAM: parameters are part of the WMS OAM MIB definition and
are hosted by WMS OAM only. Its are not declared in any Network
Element MIB, so its are not mediated by build function and not
checked by audit function.
• description: the parameter definition
• class: the four kinds of class are:
— 0: The parameter cannot be modified and a new object
instance must be created with the requested parameter value thanks
to build process or on line command.
— 2: The object instance (or one of the parent object
instance) must be locked to modify the parameter and the
modification will be taken into account after the object instance
(or the parent object instance) has been unlocked.
— 3: So called "on-line parameter definition". The object
instance does not need to be locked to modify the parameter and the
modification will immediately be taken into account with no impact
on the service availability.
— READ ONLY: The "read only" parameters can only be
displayed.
• presence: indicates if the configuration of the parameter
is optional.
• visibility
Customer parameter accessible for the
customer (read/write or read only)
Manufacturer Alcatel-Lucent defines these parameters and they are
not accessible for
customer
stricted
parameters that can be modified by the customer, but it is strongly
recom-
mended to set them according to Alcatel-Lucent specification as
their modi-
fications can have performance impacts on WMS
• data type: decimal, integer, float, boolean, etc.
• unit: the measurement unit of the value range, when
applicable.
Unit
— Enum (AdministrativeState): locked (0), unlocked (1),
shuttingdown (2)
— String: length = 40 (Hex)
— Integer: min = 0, max = nRouteSet-1
• initial value: the value of a new parameter is [#false#]
or [#null#] or [x]. This value is used:
— either when a customer wants to ensure the same
performances before a UTRAN release upgrade
— or when a customer wants to deactivate a function
• def value comments
• recommended value: this value is recommended by
Alcatel-Lucent for new networks roll out before the optimization.
The recommended values take benefit of the performance of UTRAN
feature. For installed networks, the value to set depends on the
chosen options or rules defined by the customer.
• rec val comments
Index description
At the end of each volume (from volume 2 to volume 9), two indexes
are available summarizing all
the parameters presented in the concerned volume:
• an index for the customer parameters
• an index for the manufacturer parameters
26
These two indexes list the parameters by category (standard,
inventory, states and status, dynamic
data, I&C) and by object sorted by alphabetical order, as
follows:
• standard parameters
— Object A
– Parameter AA
– Parameter AB
– Parameter AC
— Object B
– Parameter BA
– Parameter BB
• inventory parameters
— Object A
– Parameter AD
– Parameter AE
— Object C
– Parameter CA
– Parameter CB
– Parameter CC
