Greater Cincinnati

“so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will

know that you sent me and have loved them”

- John 17:23

“We need the Network to help strengthen youth ministry

and help us work together. I believe that the National

Network of Youth Ministries is the most critical youth

ministry in America. I shudder to think where the body of

Christ would be without the influence of NNYM” - Josh

McDowell

NNYM is about

Networking means leveraging our efforts—working

together. And “together” means all of us—youth

workers, teenage leaders, teachers, parents, other

adults—everyone who loves kids.

NNYM Impact

Networks are seeing major change in their

communities because of the united efforts to

help teenagers become disciples of Jesus.

The average career of a youth pastor at 1 church

is 3 years (According to research done by Simply

Youth Ministry), but a youth pastor who is in a

network their ministry lasts 10 years or longer

at the same church.

Networks are partnering and using resources

with churches and para-churches to strategically

reach students on their campuses.

Why Unity is needed to reach teenagers

There are over 130,000 students in high schools & junior

high schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. We alone are

reaching only 18% of students. To reach every student

and every campus we need to maximize the effort as youth

leaders.

How Youth Leader Networks Impact the Youth Communities?

A youth network is not a youth pastor only network.

Within a community, there are Christians in school

personnel, businesses or organizations that are already

focused on meeting the needs of teenagers. These

people are helping to expand the influence in making

disciples of every teenager.

Youth Pastors can’t do this alone

Youth Pastors cannot reach students alone. It is

statistically impossible (as we see in the diagram

below), and God never designed us to work alone or in

one isolated group. We know that we do not have

enough youth leaders active in this endeavor. Within

the larger community, there are Christians in businesses

and organizations that are already focused on meeting

the needs of teenagers and the future of the network

depends on more community members coming on

board.

“In my community, our

networks connect urban youth

workers to much needed

resources, provide a learning

environment to sharpen our

skills, and offer a “safe place” to

laugh, cry, play, worship and

pray together. Rather than

staying in our own little corners,

we are so much better when we

seek out others to partner with

for the kingdom of God” —

Virginia Ward Director of Black

Campus Ministries New England

at Intervarsity

“NNYM encouraged me to start an

urban network in Cincinnati, and

continues to encourage me and inspire

me to do more. Well, actually to do

less, to live a balanced life, to empower

others in ministry, and to look to my

network for ways we can support,

engage, and encourage one another.

We are finding out how our piece of

God's direction fits with each other's

calls”. — Gary Loomans Intern Director at

City Gospel Mission

A Healthy Youth Ministry Network includes…

a community of youth workers, students and caring

adults who unite by praying together and sharing

relationships, resources and strategy to reach and equip

teenagers for Christ.

Current Healthy Youth Ministry Network in the Southwest Ohio

Mobilized for Expansion: Priorities and goals

for 2014

NNYM is about developing networks to “Reach the

Every”: Every Student, Every Campus, and Every

Community because Every has A Name! To do this we

are building new healthy networks in communities of

southwest Ohio and to develop robust financial health

needed for expansion.

Our goals for 2014 include:

$80,000 yearly budget that includes salary and

mobilizing and establishing healthy youth ministry

networks.

Is it worth it?

You have seen the needs, numbers, and results. You

may be asking is it worth? Here is a College student

sharing the end result of NNYM:

“For me, I was trying to figure out who I was as a person

and who I was in Christ. Having adult mentors was life

changing for me. They were able to give me advice,

provide me with wisdom and help me in my journey

through faith. I wouldn't change any of the experiences I

had with the men who helped me grow into the man I

am today. I thank God daily for placing those men into

my life.”- Spencer Robinette, college student at Liberty

University and former student at Anderson High School

“Imagine every student in every school exposed to the gospel of Jesus

Christ and seeing it lived out daily by their peers. No one could do this

alone. NNYM has united us, helping to bring this vision into reality. They

network local youth pastors and youth organizations from many

backgrounds to build relationships, consider best practices and share

resources.” — Bo Boshers president of lead 222

“The Spirit of God I see in Stan. Uses Stan natural gifts and abilities to open

doors. That so many other youth minister tried and not succeed. I think it is his

humility, his servant’s heart, and his willingness anything to anybody if it mean

us working together and God be glorified.” — Matt Robinson: Student Minister

of Parkside Christian Church
