Companion Saints for 2017 The Saints are Returning
There is a tradition of having a Saint or Holy person pick you for each new year.
St. Faustina mentions this custom in her Diary,#360 (Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul). 1. Look for the bowl on a small table in the Narthex marked “Companion Saints for 2017.” 2. Pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance and then pick a slip of paper (keep the paper). 3. Get to know your Saint/Blessed by reading his/her life and pray often for his/her intercession.
The tradition is that the Saint chooses you and not the other way around. Pray for the intention mentioned — this becomes your
special mission for the year. The belief is that your Saint prays for you for the year and into the future.
