Upcoming Events Tartan Theatre presents Seussical Oct 25 – Nov 3 High energy, fast paced, and fun -- this musical based on the Dr. Seuss canon will jumpstart the Tartan Theatre season this fall. Featuring iconic characters like the Cat in the Hat and Horton the Elephant and a jam packed sung-through score, this larger than life production will entertain audiences of all ages. Tickets for Seussical are priced from $6-$10. Performances are Oct. 25 – Nov. 3. Spamalot is a musical comedy based on the tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail. Show times are scheduled Nov. 1 – 9. Performances on Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays are at 7 p.m. There is also a matinee performance scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 and 9 at 2 p.m. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter will be at the Saturday, November 9th 2 p.m. performance. You can purchase pre-sale tickets online for only $7 at www.northdrama.org. After Oct. 28, tickets are $8 (students and seniors) and $10 (adults) online and at the door. North High School is located at 2416 11 th Ave., North St. Paul, MN 55109. SPARC (Schools, Parents & Resources Connecting) meets November 4 SPARC meets on Monday, November 4 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the District Education Center, 2520 East 12th Avenue, North St. Paul. In November, the group will hear from Michelle Garay of PrairieCare, addressing the topic of “Holistic Alternatives & Additions to Mental Health Medications”. Michelle will speak from 6:30 - 8:00, and will then take questions from audience members from 8:00 - 8:30. These sessions are free and open to all parents, caregivers and community members. No pre-registration is necessary for the workshop. Free childcare is available, but you must pre-register by contacting Diane Peterson at [email protected] or 651-702-8409.

622 Education Foundation Taste of District 622 on November 2

The 9th annual Taste of District 622 will take place on Saturday, November 2 from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Tartan High School cafeteria, 828 Greenway Avenue N, Oakdale! Sponsored by the 622 Education Foundation and the National Honor Societies of both North and Tartan High Schools, there will be approximately twenty restaurants participating this year. There is also a wide variety of silent auction items to bid on, in addition to special drawings and entertainment! Annual Fall Craft and Vendor Fair at Tartan on Sat. Nov 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tartan will hold its 8th Annual Fall Craft and Vendor Fair on Sat. Nov. 2nd from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Enjoy tons of amazing homemade crafts and direct sale vendors. It’s a great way to do some pre-holiday shopping! The event is held in the gymnasium at Tartan High School (828 Greenway Ave, Oakdale N). The event runs in conjunction with the Taste of 622 event in the same building. Above right: Cadets from North High's AFJROTC program (including students from Tartan) flew on an Air Force C130 aircraft, thanks to the Minnesota Air National Guard! Cadets visited the cockpit during the flight to see how the crew worked together to fly the plane. Two lucky cadets sat up front on takeoff and two on the landing. Top left: Castle students and staff had a great time participating in the annual Fun Run! Top right: On October 14, individuals from the American Indian Education Program participated in the annual Indigenous Peoples' Day Parade. They also had the opportunity to meet and take a photo with Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. Middle left: Rep. Leon Lillie visited Webster during Principal Shadowing Week! He sat in on a meeting about music curriculum with music teacher Michael Bjork, principal Heidi George, and instructional coach Susan Harmon. Middle right: Students from Tartan visited the Minnesota History Center and met two World War II veterans. Students heard their stories of war and thanked them for their service. Tartan social studies teachers Glenn Hansen and Doug Norlander organized the event. Lower left: These students were excited to be part of a first ever all-female color guard to present the colors at a home football game. Through the cold, wind, and snow, the group maintained their military bearing and performed admirably. Lower right: Participants loved the recent Fall Run or Walk 5K hosted by the 622 Education Foundation! Community members, parents, students, and district staff took part in the fun. National Honor Society students volunteered on the course throughout the picturesque Oakdale Nature Preserve.

STEM Club By sampling a different theme each week, young engineers will discover how fun STEM can be! Four-week classes start the last week of October at Carver, Richardson, Skyview, and Weaver. Grades K-3 $85 for 4 weeks

World Language: Spanish Learn to read and write in Spanish through storytelling, translating and sentence-building exercises tailored to the capabilities of each student. Four-week classes start the last week of October at Castle, Cowern, Eagle Point, and Oakdale. Grades K-5 $40 for 4 weeks
