6 holy Moly!God protected Noah during the storm by showing him how to build the ark.

Get ReadyAsk kids to search for objects in the room that they can group by 2s. For example, find 2 of the following:

• Scissors

• Chairs

• Crayons

• Windows

• Blocks

• Kids

Point out that kids each have several body part pairs and ask them to name them: hands, feet, eyes, and ears. You might mention lungs as well. Today’s Bible story has lots of pairs, too.

Introduce the Characters• God sends a message to Noah in this story to tell him to

build an ark. Sometimes God speaks to people directly, and sometimes in dreams and through prophets.

• Noah was a man who followed God and did what was right. Following God and making the ark probably made him the joke of the town.

• Unicorns didn’t ever exist. They were just a joke in the video.

Watch for the directions God gives

Noah for staying safe during the storm.

If time permits, watch it again!

Play the Noah Video

Talk about the Noah Video• What was the world like before the flood?

• How did Noah know how to build a boat?

• What would you say if you saw someone doing something as strange as building a giant boat?

• I wonder what it would be like to go through a storm in a boat like the ark.

• What surprised you about the way the world looked after the storm?

• What did the rainbow tell you about God’s promise never to flood the earth again?

Open the holy Moly Bible StorybookRead God’s Promise Will Not End on pages 21-26. Look at the people on page 21.

• What are the people doing in this picture?

• When the flood ended, God put a rainbow in the sky to remind people of God’s promise. What was the promise?

Look at the pictures of the ark and all the animals.

• Why did God save Noah’s family and the animals?

• Imagine living in the ark with all those animals. How would it smell? What would it sound like?

• Think about the last time it rained all day long. What do you like to do when it is raining?

• How do you think Noah and his family felt when the rain stopped and the land appeared?

Fold the top of the triangle, orange on orange, down along Fold 1.

Cut out the triangle and fill in the items you would have taken

on the ark.

Fold along the Fold 2 and 3 lines.

PACKING FOR ThE ARK: Kids build a simple paper boat and pack it with things they care about and would take with them.

Fold up along Fold 4, and tape in place.

holy Moly!Give kids time to imagine and help them reflect.

• What things are you taking on the ark with you? Why did you choose them? What has your family made or done to help you feel safe and happy?

• What or who is important to know is always close by you? Why?
