Important: Do not use a mini-UICC SIMcard, also known as a micro-SIM card, a micro-SIM card with an adapter, or a SIM card thathas a mini-UICC cutout (see figure) in thisdevice. A micro SIM card is smaller than thestandard SIM card. This device does notsupport the use of micro-SIM cards and use ofincompatible SIM cards may damage the cardor the device, and may corrupt data stored onthe card.

Your device may have internal and externalantennas. Avoid touching the antenna areaunnecessarily while the antenna istransmitting or receiving. Contact withantennas affects the communication qualityand may cause a higher power level duringoperation and may reduce the battery life.

i) You can send text messages that are longerthan the character limit for a single message.Longer messages are sent as two or moremessages. Your service provider may chargeaccordingly.

Characters with accents, other marks, or somelanguage options, take more space, and limitthe number of characters that can be sent in asingle message.

ii) To listen to the radio, you need to attach acompatible headset to the device. The headsetacts as an antenna.

iii) Do not shine the flashlight in anyone'seyes.

Batteries and chargersBattery and charger informationYour device is intended for use with a BL-5Crechargeable battery. Nokia may makeadditional battery models available for thisdevice. Always use original Nokia batteries.

This device is intended for use when suppliedwith power from the following chargers:

AC-8. The exact Nokia charger model numbermay vary depending on the plug type,identified by E, X, AR, U, A, C, K, or B. The chargermodel number can be, for example, AC-8.

The battery can be charged and dischargedhundreds of times, but it will eventually wearout. When the talk and standby times arenoticeably shorter than normal, replace thebattery.

Important: Talk and standby times areestimates only. Actual times are affected by,for example, network conditions, devicesettings, features being used, batterycondition, and temperature.

Battery safetyAlways switch the device off and disconnectthe charger before removing the battery.When you unplug a charger or an accessory,hold and pull the plug, not the cord.

6. Repaired Product will be warranted forthe balance of the original warranty period orfor ninety (90) days from the date of repair,whichever is longer.7. Upon request from Nokia or its authorisedservice centre, the Consumer must providepurchase receipt or other information to provethe date and place of purchase.8. Transportation, delivery and handlingcharges incurred in the transport of theProduct to and from Nokia or its authorisedservice centre will be borne by the Consumer.9. The Consumer shall have no coverage orbenefits under this limited warranty if any ofthe following conditions are applicable:1. The Product has been subject to:abnormal use, abnormal condition, improperstorage, exposure to moisture or dampness,exposure to excessive temperature or othersuch environmental conditions, unauthorisedmodifications, unauthorised connections,unauthorised repair including but not limitedto use of unauthorised spare parts in repairs,misuse, neglect, abuse, accident, alteration,improper installation, Acts of God, spill offoods or liquids, maladjustment of customercontrols or other acts which are beyond ofreasonable control of Nokia, includingdeficiencies in consumable parts such as fusesand breakage or damage to antennas, unlesscaused directly by defects in materials orworkmanship, and normal wear and tear ofthe Product.2. Nokia was not notified by Consumer ofthe alleged defect or malfunction of theProduct during the applicable limitedwarranty period.


3. The Product serial number or theaccessory date code has been removed,defaced or altered.4. The defect or damage was caused bydefective function of the cellular system or byinadequate signal reception by the externalantenna.5. The Product was used with or connectedto accessory not supplied by Nokia, not fit foruse with Nokia cellular phones or used in otherthan its intended use.6. The battery was short circuited or seals ofthe battery enclosure or cells are broken orshow evidence of tampering or the batterywas used in equipment other that for which ishas been specified.10. If a problem develops during the limitedwarranty period, the Consumer should takethe following step-by-step procedure:1. The Consumer shall return the Product tothe place of purchase for repair orreplacement processing.2. If "a" is not convenient, the Consumermay contact the local Nokia office for thelocation of the nearest authorised servicecentre.3. The Consumer shall arrange for theProduct to be delivered to the authorisedservice centre. Expenses related to removingthe Product from an installation are notcovered under this limited warranty.4. The Consumer will be billed for any partsor labor charges not covered by this limitedwarranty. The Consumer shall be responsiblefor expenses related to reinstallation of theProduct.5. In case of certain operator specificfeatures in the Product such as SIM-lock, Nokiareserves the right to refer the Consumer to the

relevant cellular operator before service willbe provided.6. If the Product is returned to Nokia afterthe expiration of the warranty period, Nokia’snormal service policies shall apply and theConsumer will be charged accordingly.11. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OFMERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR APARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, SHALL BE LIMITEDTO THE DURATION OF THE FOREGOING WRITTENWARRANTY. OTHERWISE, THE FOREGOINGWARRANTY IS THE PURCHASER’S SOLE ANDEXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERWARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. NOKIASHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL ORCONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR A LOSS OFANTICIPATED BENEFITS OR PROFITS, LOSS ORIMPAIRMENT OF PRIVACY OF CONVERSATIONS,WORK STOPPAGE OR LOSS OR IMPAIRMENT OFDATA ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TOUSE THE PRODUCT.12. The benefits conferred by this limitedwarranty are in addition to all other rights andremedies under any applicable mandatorylegislation as may be in force from country(area) to country (area).13. Nokia neither assumes nor authorises anyauthorised service centre or any person orentity to assume for it any other obligation orliability beyond that which is expresslyprovided for in this limited warranty.14. OVI SERVICE TERMSTerms of Use1. Acceptance

These Ovi Service Terms together with thePrivacy Policy govern your use of the service,site and software where you accessed theseterms (collectively "Service"). By registeringfor or using the Service or any portion of it youaccept these Ovi Service Terms, Privacy Policy,all other additional terms, guidelines andpolicies that may be published from time totime within the Service (collectively “Terms”).

These Terms constitute an agreementbetween you and Nokia Corporation, includingits affiliates and suppliers (collectively“Nokia”), defining your and Nokia’s rights andresponsibilities with respect to the Service.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must be at leastthirteen (13) years of age. If you are underthirteen (13) years of age, or at least thirteen(13) years of age but a minor where you live,you must have your parent or legal guardianaccept your registration on your behalf andapprove of your use of the Service. Anyonecompleting the registration must be legallycompetent.

3. Registration and Termination

You agree to provide truthful and completeinformation when registering for the Serviceand to keep that information updated.

Providing misleading information about youridentity is forbidden.

When you register, you will create a NokiaAccount with username and a password. You,and your parent or legal guardian if you are aminor, are personally responsible for any useof the Service with your username andpassword. You agree to take due care inprotecting your username and passwordagainst misuse by others and promptly notifyNokia about any misuse. Upon first use of yourdevice and after you have updated the Nokiadevice software an activation text messagewill be sent to Nokia. The creation of a NokiaAccount will require data transmission. Datatransmission costs may apply.

You may terminate your registration if you nolonger wish to use the Service. Aftertermination, you will no longer have access tothe Service. Nokia may terminate yourregistration or restrict your access to certainparts of the Service if there is an indicationthat you have breached the Terms or withprior notice if you have not signed into theService with your user name in the past six (6)months.

Except as set forth in Privacy Policy, Nokia shallnot be responsible for any removal or loss ofthe information or content you havesubmitted to the Service. When information orcontent is removed from the Service by eitheryou or Nokia, traces or copies may still remainelsewhere.

4. Licenses


Users of the Service are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, revocableat any time at Nokia’s sole discretion, to accessand use the Service strictly in accordance withthe Terms. Use of the Service does not grantyou any further intellectual property rights inor to any information or content in the Service.

As part of the Service, Nokia may provide youwith content developed by Nokia or itslicensors (“Content”). You are granted a non-exclusive and perpetual license to use suchContent for the purpose it is intended, unlessotherwise defined in the applicable Terms orthe purchase order.

Some Content may only be available toresidents of certain geographical areas. Youagree to be bound by any restrictionsapplicable to specific Content you obtainthrough the Service. Any license acquired tothird-party Content is a binding agreementbetween you and the third-party Contentprovider. The third-party Content provider issolely responsible for any Content it providesand for any claims you may have relating tosuch Content. Nokia will have the right (andwill be deemed to have accepted the right) toenforce such license terms against you as athird party beneficiary thereof. All rights notgranted to you for the Content are reserved tothe owners of such Content.

As part of the Service, Nokia may provide youwith certain software developed by Nokia orits licensors (“Software”). Your use of suchSoftware may be subject to separate termsand conditions that you must accept before

using the Software. If there are no separateterms and conditions applicable to suchSoftware, the following terms apply: Nokiagrants to you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use suchSoftware on your computer and/or mobiledevice. You may not copy the Software, exceptto make a single archival backup copy. Youmay not distribute, transfer the right to use,modify, translate, reproduce, resell,sublicense, rent, lease, reverse engineer, orotherwise attempt to discover the source code(except to the extent that this restriction isexpressly prohibited by law) or makederivative works of the Software.

You may submit information or content(“Material”) to the Service. Nokia does notclaim ownership in your Material. Yoursubmission of Material to the Service does nottransfer ownership of rights of the Material toNokia. Nokia is only transmitting the Materialand has no editorial control over it.

By submitting Material to the Service you grantNokia a world-wide, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, assignable, fully paid-up, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license to use,copy, publicly perform, display, distribute andmodify the Material to incorporate theMaterial into other works, and to sublicensethe same, to the extent necessary for Nokia toprovide the Service and as may be furtheradjusted by You in privacy and other settingsof Service.

5. Using the Service


You agree to:• Comply with applicable laws, the Termsand good manners;• Use the Service only for your personal,non-commercial purposes;• Not submit unlawful, offensive, abusive,pornographic, harassing, libelous orotherwise inappropriate Material;• Obtain any consents, permission orlicenses that may be legally required for youto submit any Material;• Respect the privacy of others;• Not distribute or post spam,unreasonably large files, chain letters,pyramid schemes, viruses; or• Not use any other technologies or initiateother activities that may harm the Service, orthe interest or property of the Service users.• Agree to be responsible for theconsequences of Material that you post.

You agree:• To use the Content only for your personal,non-commercial purposes;• To use the Content in accordance with therestrictions set out in the applicable laws,additional terms, guidelines and policies or onthe product pages that apply to that particularpiece of the Content;• Not to, nor authorize anyone else, makecopies, give, sell, resell, loan, rent, offer,broadcast, send, distribute, transfer,communicate to the public, reproduce,modify, display, perform, commerciallyexploit or make the Content available unlessotherwise authorized in the applicable Terms.You agree to advise Nokia promptly of anysuch unauthorized use;• Not to attempt (or support others) toremove, circumvent, reverse engineer,decrypt, or otherwise alter or interfere withany applicable usage rules or attempt tocircumvent digital rights management or copyprotection features associated with theContent or any other technologies used tocontrol the access to or use of the Content orany identifying information associated with it;• Not to attempt (or support others) to useany automated systems or means, except forthose provided by us, for the selection ordownloading of the Content;• Not to give out your password or allowother people to access the Content. The Content is owned and/or controlled byNokia and/or its respective licensors (“RightsOwners”), and are protected by intellectual

You may notify Nokia of copyrightinfringement on the Service by providingnotice (a) by email with “CopyrightNotification” in the subject line [email protected], (b) by adocument titled “Copyright Notification”mailed to Nokia, Attn: Copyright Agent, 102Corporate Park Drive, White Plains, NY 10604,USA or (c) via the online form, if available. Yournotice must:

1. identify the original copyrighted work youclaim is infringed;

2. identify the content on the Service that youclaim is infringing the copyrighted work.Please provide enough detail for Nokia tolocate the allegedly infringing content on theService;

3. provide your contact information, includingyour full name, mailing address, telephonenumber, and email address, if available;

4. provide a statement that you have a goodfaith belief that the use of the content in themanner complained of is not authorized bythe copyright owner, its agent, or the law;

5. provide this statement: "I swear, underpenalty of perjury, that the information in thisnotification and complaint is accurate andthat I am the copyright owner, or amauthorized to act on behalf of the copyrightowner of an exclusive right that is infringed.";and

6. provide your signature, as applicable.

8. Notices

Nokia may post notices within the Service.Nokia may also send you notices aboutproducts and Services to the email address ortelephone number you have provided to us.You are deemed to have received such noticesat the latest within seven (7) days from Nokiasending or posting those. Your continued useof the Services constitutes your receipt of allnotices regardless of delivery method.

9. Fees

Your use of the Service may be or may becomesubject to charges.

Any fees charged by Nokia will be announcedseparately in connection with the Service.

Use of the Service may involve transmission ofdata through your service provider’s network.The prices listed within the Service do notinclude possible data transmission chargesand your network service provider may chargefor such data transmission.


Nokia assumes no responsibility for thepayment of any charges of your serviceproviders.

10. Purchase and Payment Terms

To place an order within the Service, you musthave reached the age of legal competenceaccording to the applicable legislation. If youhave not reached the age of legal competence,you may place orders only with the priorconsent of your parent or legal guardian.

You agree that all orders placed shall be legallyvalid and binding. As used here, "order" shallmean the selection of the Content available inthe Service accompanied by the entering andsending of payment method and information,as well as selecting the "buy", "ok" or "I accept"choice in the purchase order flow, or otherindication of acceptance of your order that ispresented to you in the purchase order flow.All orders are subject to acceptance by Nokia.

By submitting any ideas, feedback and/orproposals ("Feedback") to Nokia through theService or other means, you acknowledge andagree that: (1) Nokia may have similardevelopment ideas to the Feedback; (2) yourFeedback does not contain confidential orproprietary information of you or any thirdparty; (3) Nokia is not under any obligation ofconfidentiality with respect to the Feedback;(4) Nokia may freely use, exploit and furtherdevelop and modify such Feedback for anypurpose; and (5) you are not entitled to anycompensation of any kind from Nokia.

13. Social Activities and Location Sharing

You may use features in the Service to shareyour location, status or personal information.

By using such features you agree that Nokiamay use and provide such information toother services and persons with whom youchoose to share this information. Users ofthese services and persons, such as yourcontacts, may see your location, status and/orpersonal information.

Your location may be determined using anyavailable positioning method in your devicee.g. GPS, assisted GPS (A-GPS) and mobile orWLAN network positioning. The use ofnetwork positioning and/or A-GPS includesexchanging network based locationinformation and network service providerspecific ID’s between your device and thechosen network positioning server toestablish your location more quickly andreliably. Used location method and othersettings may be changed and certain featuresdisabled by changing the settings in yourdevice or service. Please check the privacypolicies of your A-GPS server and otherpotential service providers.

Some features in the Service may enable youto share Content or Materials with other users,sites or services. To access the Service, you may need todownload a specific piece of softwaredeveloped by Nokia or by another party.

Nokia may, in its sole discretion, change,improve, correct or discontinue the Service orany part thereof. The Service may not beavailable during maintenance breaks andother times. To ensure you have the latestNokia device software and applications, yourdevice checks the availability of softwareupdates from Nokia. If any are available youwill be prompted to approve the installation.You may disable automatic checking forupdates through settings in your device. Youmay also install software through availablesoftware update channels. Nokia may alsoprovide updates to the Software that areconsidered important or critical by Nokia, andin such case you may not continue using theprevious version of the Software and the useof the previous version of the Software orService may be prevented without installationof the update.

15. Dealings with Others

You may interact with other users on orthrough the Service. You agree that any suchinteractions do not involve Nokia and aresolely between you and the other user(s).

16. Links to Third Party Sites and Content

Nokia may include access to sites and serviceson the Internet or preloaded clients thatenable you to interact with sites and servicesthat are owned or operated by third partiesand that are not part of the Service. You mustreview and agree to the terms and conditionsof such sites or services before using such sitesor services.

You agree that Nokia has no control over thethird party content, sites or services andassumes no responsibility for servicesprovided or material created or published bysuch sites or services. A link to a third-partysite does not imply that Nokia endorses thesite or the products or services referenced inthe site.

In addition, you and other users may createcontent and links to content within the Servicethat has not otherwise been submitted to theService. You agree that Nokia is notresponsible for any such content or links.

Service may include advertisements.Advertisements may be targeted to thecontent or information stored on the Service,queries made through the Service, or otherinformation.


18. Personal Data

The Privacy Policy and any additional privacyinformation made available to you govern theuse of your personal data.

19. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on “AS IS” and “ASAVAILABLE” basis. Nokia does not warrant thatthe Service will be uninterrupted or error orvirus-free. No warranty of any kind, eitherexpress or implied, including but not limitedto warranties of title, non-infringement,merchantability, or fitness for a particularpurpose, is made in relation to the availability,accuracy, reliability, information or content ofthe Service. You expressly agree andacknowledge that the use of the Service is atyour sole risk and that you may be exposed tocontent from various sources.

Except for liability for death or personal injurycaused by its gross negligence or intentionalmisconduct, Nokia is not liable for any directdamages caused by your use or inability to usethe Service. In no case will Nokia be liable forany indirect, incidental, punitive orconsequential damages resulting from youruse or inability to use the Service.

20. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Nokia fromand against all third party claims and allliabilities, assessments, losses, costs ordamages resulting from or arising out of (i)your breach of the Terms, (ii) your

infringement or violation of any intellectualproperty, other rights or privacy of a thirdparty, and (iii) misuse of the Service by a thirdparty where such misuse was made availableby your failure to take reasonable measures toprotect your username and password againstmisuse.

21. Miscellaneous

21.1 Choice of Law and Arbitration

Terms shall be governed by the laws of Finlandwithout regard to its conflict of law provisions.

21.2 Validity

The Terms shall neither exclude nor limit anyof your mandatory rights in your country ofresidence that cannot by law be waived.
