Firing Squad News
The Firing Squad received no requests for funeral honors this period. There is
nothing scheduled for April.
The squad will be rendering honors at Celoron Park on 25 May at 9:00am.
We will be stepping off at 10:45am from Southwestern High School and march-
ing o Sunset Hill Cemetery for the Memorial Day program there. This year’s
host post is Lakewood Memorial Post 1286.
The firing squad is still waiting for a few good men and women to volunteer
their time. Legionnaires, Sons and Auxiliary members are eligible and welcome.

777 Auxiliary News
We’ve got a couple of great months coming up and I hope to see a lot of you
at our post having fun!
May 15th and 15th are our annual Poppy Days. All of the money raised is
used for the Veteran’s in our post. Please consider signing up for even 2 hours
to help us distribute the poppies this year. A poster for sign-ups will be at the
Legion.
Thanks again to all of the wonderful folks that support our Tuesday night
dinners. We just were able to purchase a new fryer for our kitchen because of
all of you who attend our meals!
For the good of God, our Country, and our Legion,
Patti Leake, President

From the 1st Vice Commander - Membership
This year will mark the 33rd year that our friends from Cambridge On-
tario have come to participate in our Memorial Day. Thank You!
The Memorial Day parade will kick off at 10:45am from Southwestern
School and end in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Lakewood will host lunch
after the Memorial Service in the cemetary.
Please remember Flag Day is June 14th. If you have any worn flags,
bring them to our post for proper disposal. You can also purchase new
flags at our post; a 3x5’ is $25. See Neville for 5x8” flags.
Dues are past due! Please get your dues in today.

From the 3rd Vice
We have lots of events coming to the Post. Please look over the calendar to
pick a few to attend. We invite all Moms and their families for the Mothers Day
Brunch, and do forget the Memorial Day services. T-shirts honoring our veter-
ans are available at the Post.
If any one has a few hours a month to volunteer at the Post please let us
know. We would be happy to have you. Together we are stronger.

Junior Auxiliary
Thank you to everyone who has supported us at our bake sales and raffles
that we have at the monthly breakfast.
Our Juniors are doing great and having fun. Remember if you have a child
under 18, they can be a junior member for only $5!

From our post Manager
We always have new things in the works but may not have them confirmed
in time for the newsletter. Please continue to check the post or sign-up for our
weekly email reminders.
I also love to hear new ideas so if you have something, please drop me a note
or see me when you are in.
Thank you all for supporting your post!
Liz DeLong
Sons of the American Legion
Please get your dues in. We are way behind, about 70%. We need more partici-pation at the Sons' meetings. They are the second Tuesday of every month.
Don't forget elections are in May. Nominations started in March.
Don't forget to support your post.
For the Good of the Sons.
Doug Towne, Commander
Auxiliary Membership
REMINDER: ALL 2015 dues were due by December 31st. If you haven’t paid
your dues yet, please do so asap. We still have unpaid, outstanding dues. We
took first place last year for 100% members paid and we’d love to do it again!
ALSO for those of you who have paid, please remember when you pay your
dues you must pick up your card at the post unless you send a self-addressed
stamped envelope when you mail in your dues.
All 2015 paid membership cards are at the bar. Please ask for them when you
go in.
