One Week Closer: This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday. Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem reflects such joy and celebration. Then Holy Week with the contrast of Good Friday and Easter! The sadness of Jesus’s death one day and the joy of His resurrection 3 days later! What a rollercoaster of emotions! Not much different from the emotions of our present day. We find ourselves joyful and celebrating, then the next moment sad and disappointed. As we reflect on all of the events that took place in the life of our Lord, I pray we also will find the comfort and joy His death and resurrection gives to those who believe. WASC Visitation Team Completes Work: The WASC team completed their visit Wednesday and before leaving presented their exit report to everyone. We received many compliments. In approximately 2 weeks we receive the official written report from the team. Then in late May or early June we will receive the official word from the WASC office of our accreditation. NLSA Accreditation of Preschool: While our Kdg.-Gr. 8 school was being visited by WASC, our Lamb’s Lot Preschool was being visited by National Lutheran School Accreditation representatives. Our preschool was complemented in a variety of areas. They will receive the team’s report in a few weeks and official notification in July. Principal Search: Our second principal candidate is on campus today through Monday, March 27-30. His name is Mr. Joel Wahlers and he currently serves as principal at St. John’s Lutheran School in Napa, CA. Parents, you are invited to a “meet and greet” with Mr. Wahlers on Monday, at 1:00PM, in the Parlor of Walker Hall. The Search Committee apologizes for the time of this event, but because of the variety of people and groups he needs to see, this became the only workable time. Calling a Principal: Parents, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 31 st at 7:30 in the Sanctuary. A special congregational assembly will take place and at this time we will be calling a new principal for our school. You are invited to attend. Individuals who are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 years of age or older and have signed the church constitution may vote. Opportunity to sign the church constitution will take place at the beginning of the meeting. Please keep this matter in your prayers as we make this important decision. Thursday, 4/2 – Noon Dismissal Friday 4/3 – 4/10 –No School - Easter Break

Principal’s Desk…….

SOCIAL MEDIA SAFETY EVENT - How would it feel to find out your child was being targeted online by a 50 year-old adult posing as another child? Scary, right? "Not my child" you might be saying, but you should know that it's a real possibility! It actually happened to a St. John's student! The parents were notified by an app they had installed on the device, the child was safe and the adult was caught. We want all of you to be able to protect your tech savvy kids in the same way! St. John's auxiliary board is pleased to be bringing Scott Burnett back to our campus on April 27th. Whether your child is already online and using social media or not quite old enough yet, you WILL want to hear what he has to say. It's shocking but very necessary information and he presents tons of helpful solutions! Please see the attached flyer for details and email [email protected] asap to reserve your spot for this very important night.

BOOKFAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Be a volunteer to help our kids discover the power of reading and earn PIP hours for your time. Our annual Scholastic Book fair "Book Fair Under the Sea, Explore an Ocean of Books" is April 20 - 24, 2015 and we'd love to have you on our team. Help is needed with fair set-up, pack-up, decorations, cashiering, or helping shoppers find the perfect book. If you'd like to help keep our kids reading contact co-chairs Lisa M. May at [email protected] or Sara Grewe at [email protected]. (see attached flyer for more details).
