THE OSDS SEMI LOW-LOADERWith the programme of the OSDS semi low-loaders,Nooteboom has set an important standard. In response tomarket wishes, the OSDS is designed to carry huge loadswhile having an extremely low dead weight. With a deadweight from 8.5 tonnes Nooteboom certainly achieved whatthey set out to do. The unique design of the OSDS guarantees an extremely strong and robust chassis with a low load floor height. The OSDS semi low-loader offers the best position for the centre of gravity and load distribution between goose-neck and axle assembly.

The OSDS is manufactured using the latest production methods in the brand-new factory in Wijchen. The qualityof the finish and conservation of the OSDS semi low-loaderis outstanding. In addition to zinc primer, a hot zinc spray can be used for the conservation of the chassis, whichvirtually eliminates the risk of corrosion. For a very competitive price Nooteboom offers you top qual-ity semi low-loaders, made with components of renownedbrands only. The programme consists of 3-axle and 4-axle semi low-loaders with fixed or extendible load floor.

HYDRAULIC 3-METRE RAMPSThe 3-metre hydraulic operated ramp provides a loading angle of 13 degrees and offers easy access for almost all plant machinery such as excavators and dumpers. The width adjustment can be operated mechanically or hydraulically.

HYDRAULIC 4-METRE FOLDING RAMPSThe 4-metre automatic folding ramps have an angle of gradient of just 9.5 degrees, which makes driving onto the load floor very easy.

HYDRAULIC 5-METRE FOLDING RAMPSWith an angle of gradient of only 7.6 degrees, the 5-metre automatic folding ramps offer the easiest access to the load floor. These ramps are the pre-ferred option for machinery with very little ground clearance, such as access platforms. The width adjustment is hydraulically operated.

LOADING ON THE GOOSENECKThe OSDS is ideally suited for carrying loads on the gooseneck. The ramps hook on to U-shape, imme-diately behind the sloping gooseneck. Due to the sloping gooseneck and ramps the machines can be loaded safely and without difficulty.

ALUMINIUM HOOK ON RAMPSAluminium hook-on ramps can be an excellent alternative if ramps are only occasionally used for loading the trailer. The angle of gradient of these 2400 mm alu ramps is 15 degrees.

LOADING RAMPSIn order to ensure loading/unloading is as effi cient and safe as possible, Nooteboom has a wide range of ramps to choose from. The programme includes ramps of various lengths, widths and design. The hydraulic ramps, when lowered, and load fl oor fi t together seamlessly.


LOADING RAMPS OSDS SEMI LOW-LOADERS

VARIOUS VERSIONSAll hydraulically operated ramps are available in various widths, ranging from 780 to 1250 mm. The load floor can be supplied in wood or with a galvanized steel grid for extra traction, depending on the machines that will be carried. There are also various other different options available, such as special strips that provide extra grip for tracked vehicles or special reinforcement for ultra-heavy machines.

HYDRAULIC OPERATIONTo fold/unfold the ramps and to adjust the width, an electro-hydraulic pump is integrated in the chassis. The various functions of the ramps are operated from the central control unit.

LOADING RAMPS OSDS SEMI LOW-LOADERS

SELF-TRACKING AXLESFor improved manoeuvrability and reduced tyre wear the OSDS semi low-loaders are equipped as standard with at least one self-tracking axle. For a 3-axle vehicle this will be the rearmost axle, for a 4-axle vehicle it will be the two rearmost axles. Due to the central beam construction of the OSDS this self-steering axle has a very generous steering angle of 20 degrees.

SUSPENSION & EBS BRAKE SYSTEMThe OSDS semi low-loader is equipped as standard with EBS and a Wabco air suspension system. This system provides an extremely comfortable ride. It can also be used to raise and lower the load floor, with a total travel in height of 200 mm. The EBS comes complete with RSS Rollover Stability Support, which identiefies roll-over ten-dencies of the trailer.

TYRES AND AXLESThe OSDS semi low-loaders are equipped as standard with SAF axles with modern hub units and automatic adjusters. The steel disc wheels are fitted as standard with Michelin tyres, type 245/70R17.5 XTE2, double mounted.

BEAVERTAIL LOAD FLOORThe EB version of the OSDS semi low-loader has a load floor which slopes at the rear for safe and easy loading/unloading of the machines. This 1150 mm long slope, together with the ramps, ensures the angle of gradient is optimal for driving the load onto/off the trailer. The bea-ver is made with hardwood as standard. Galvanised steel grids can be fitted if extra traction is required.

EXTREMELY STRONG GOOSENECKThe gooseneck of the OSDS semi low-loader is extremely strong, despite being only 185 mm thick. This allows the front of the semi-trailer to stay very low. The gooseneck is so strong that it can carry machinery without any prob-lems. The gooseneck of the OSDS semi low-loader can be used with 4x2, 6x2 and 6x4 tractors and has a coupling height of 1250 mm. Of course different coupling heights are included in the programme.

WIDTH MARKER PLATES If during transport the load protrudes from the sides of the vehicle, width marker plates must be used. The galvanised telescopic width marker plates are maintenance free and fitted with a retro-reflective warning sign and lighting. A flashing beacon can simply be attached to the flashing beacon stake.

SPARE WHEEL CARRIERThere are various storage options available for the spare wheel, ranging from a carrier underneath the load floor to a location on the front of the gooseneck.

LOADFLOOR WIDTH ADJUSTMENTThe load floor has a standard width of 2550 mm and can be extended to just over 3000 mm by means of outrig-gers. On either side of the load floor 10 ‘Heavy Duty’ galvanised outriggers are fitted. Special extension beams fit between the consoles.

STORAGE BOX AND TOOLBOXTo safely stow the extension beams and loose materials, Nooteboom can supply various storage solutions on the OSDS. Ranging from a compact, lockable toolbox and storage box for the extension beams underneath the load floor to a large lockable box on the gooseneck.

EXTENDIBLE LOAD FLOOR There are various versions in the OSDS semi low-loader programme that can be equipped with an extendible load floor to extend the loading surface behind the gooseneck from 9 to nearly 16 metres in length. The load floor can be extended in steps of approx. 50 cm.
