Memorial Service for Melissa Lausevic ! It is with deep sorrow that we must inform you of the passing of Melissa Lausevic, the daughter of Lily and Sam Lausevic of Sacramento. The memorial service will be held this Sunday (August 24) at 11:30am at the chapel in Moriah Heights. !Kenya Medical Mission Concludes ! The NCC Medical Mission to Kenya concluded successful on Friday, August 15. The amazing experience provided for both a medical clinic that served 2,331 patients, a food distribution program that serviced almost 10,000 free meals, and a welfare ministry providing over 3,000 families with packages of food and clothing. Additional services were varied and including everything from rebuilding a dilapidated family home to providing cattle allowing a farmer to plow his field. We would like to invite everyone to Sacramento SDARM Church on Sabbath afternoon, September 6, at 2:00pm, where we will be presenting a full report with experiences and pictures. At that time we will also be premiering the first showing of the official 2014 Kenya Mission video. !

Phoenix Flooding Flash flooding in Phoenix, Arizona, caused authorities to close parts of Interstate 17 and other roads in northern portions of the city. The unusual weather caused a sudden downpour of eight inches of water, and the National Weather Service says sporadic storms are expected for the next few days. Roberto Duarte, pastor at the Phoenix SDARM Church, reports that the church is not in the flooded area, and no church members were directly affected. Services will continue as per the normal schedule this week.

Moriah Heights Conference The annual summer spiritual conference in Moriah Heights under the big tent takes place next week August 29-30. If there are any final musical items you wish to present please contact Jeriel Fountain, the music coordinator for this event. The conference program will be followed by the youth team building event on Sunday from 9am to noon, followed by lunch. Please ensure that you register in advance for this event with David Devai to ensure that we have enough supplies for each activity.
