I’m delighted to welcome you to our school. I hope the following pages give you a sense of the pride we feel for our school and in the vision we have for the education and care of your children. Our vision at all Nord Anglia Education schools is that every child should aim to excel. It is an aspiration that applies equally to all my staff, both teaching and administrative. I feel strongly that the people that teach and care for your children should be strong role models and mentors to them.

My teaching staff and I are committed to educating the whole child and, in partnership with you, creating confident, happy individuals who have well established values and who make a positive, effective contribution to society.

We are delighted to be opening in September 2014 and we will be welcoming students from Years 1 to 7. As the school grows we will move into Years 8 and 9.

Our students will benefit from the academic excellence and rigour of the English National Curriculum, which we adapt to the needs of our international student body. Our High Performance Learning style inspires academic success and develops socially and intellectually confident children. As part of our 27 premium schools around the world, we will also become an integral part of Nord Anglia Education’s exciting Global Classroom network.

Our first school in Hong KongWe look forward to welcoming our first group of students, parents and teachers to our new school in Lam Tin, East Kowloon. Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong will open in September 2014, following an extensive renovation and refurbishment.

Brand NewThe scope of the school renovation is comprehensive. Nearly every area will be refurbished or redeveloped and it is our vision that the campus will be transformed in to a world class school capable of nurturing high academic performance.

The ICT-rich environment will include a large sports and performance hall, specialist classrooms for music, art, drama and science and a Learning Resource Centre that can be used for individual and group study.

Welcoming and Inspiring Our aim is to produce a deeply welcoming environment that promotes a culture of inclusion and significantly contributes to learner and parental participation and community engagement.

Our vision for the school is driven by high quality design and the creation of a rich variety of inspiring learning opportunities both within and beyond the classroom. The campus will provide flexible teaching spaces and offer a wide variety of different outdoor settings for learning, sports and leisure.

We demonstrate that all children – when treated as individuals using the right approaches – can become high performing, confident, global citizens.

Our curriculum is designed to provide the highest academic quality of education. We will follow the English National Curriculum, adapted to the needs of our international student community.

Our main subject areas are: English, Maths, Science, Mandarin, Modern Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Music, Art and Design, Drama and Physical Education. We aim for no more than 22 students per form, with one of our experienced teachers and teaching assistants supporting each class.

Our Teaching PhilosophyWe have combined the respected English National Curriculum with our own contemporary approach to education: High Performance Learning. Developed by our Director of Education, Professor Deborah Eyre, this modern, global approach to learning means your child will grow up to be intellectually confident, energised, open-minded and full of character.

Every subject is taught using an integrated, thematic approach founded on inquiry-based learning and high quality teaching. We find that children thrive in their correct class age groups. Our differentiated teaching accommodates students who are performing at different levels and makes sure each child is suitably challenged. Where there are two or three classes in a year group, we try to organise the classes so that they are balanced in terms of language experience, nationalities, abilities and gender.

Visits & TripsThanks to our schedule of educational visits and trips, your child won’t just be reading about something in a textbook. They’ll be able to see it with their own eyes.

Some trips are local and others further afield. They include sporting tournaments and some of the world’s most culturally-significant places. Older children may get the opportunity to soak up a culture as part of a longer stay, or through student exchanges.

Your child will be nurtured to become a person of character. Learning the value of good manners, understanding, empathy, collaboration and respect. They will be inspired to work as part of a team, to take risks, to value others and to embrace leadership roles.
