Also, by keeping your hedges trimmed and exterior lights workings, criminals will be less likely to try to hide or creep around your home. • Watch the mail for your ballot for the HOA Board Elections. Be sure to return your ballot or attend the HOA meeting on Nov 19, for to your vote will be counted. • MUD Board Meeting are held every fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM, at 3327 Le Mer, right here in our neighborhood. All residents are invited to attend. • Don't forget that heavy trash pick-up is every second Friday of the month. is year, you will be electing three new board members to serve on your 2014 HOA Board. is is an important election, as these candidates will represent and made decisions for you and your community. With that inmind it’s not too soon tostart thinkingaboutsafetywhilewe’reout.Notlongagomostcriminalactivityrevolvedaroundhomesandvehiclesbeingbrokenintowith criminals stealing your property.Thistypeofcrimestilltakesplace,butwiththeincreasingnumberofsecuritysystemsbeingutilizedithasbecomealottoughertocommitabreakinwithoutbeingcaught.

Criminals are a crafty bunch and spendmostoftheir“offtheclock”timedevisingnewwaystotakeadvantageoftheinnocent.Locallawenforcementisseeinganewtrendwhichinvolvesthecriminalelementstalkinglocalbusiness establishments such as large retailand grocery stores,malls and strip centerswithmultiplebusinesseslookingforinnocentvictims.Theylookforareasthatareverybusywithpedestriantrafficwheretheymightbeabletograbyourpropertyandrunwithoutbeingnoticedbyanyoneotherthanyou.Bythetimeyougethelptheyhavedisappearedintothinairitseems.Thebadguyscanbeonfootorinavehicleandittakesplacebothnightandday.Wehavebeenadvisedofseveralincidentswhereavehiclewilldrivethroughaparkinglotuntiltheynoticesomeonethatisnotpayingattentionanddriveupbehindthem,asuspectwillthenleanoutawindowandgrabapurseorpropertyandfleewithouteverexitingthevehicle.Insidestores,criminalsfollowapersonandwhentheyaren’tlooking,walkupandstealpropertywithout you even knowing.There aremanyways thatcriminalstakeadvantageofyouinthesetypesofsettingsbut,justlikeprotectingyourhomesandautostherearewaysthatyoucanjustabouteliminatethechanceofyouoryourlovedonesbecomingavictiminoneofthesesituations.

Themost important thing you need to remember is“PAYATTENTIONTOYOURSURROUNDINGS”!!It’ssimplebutyouwouldbesurprisedatthepeoplethatgetwrappedupinthemomentandforgettowatchwhat’sgoingonaroundthem.Thesetypesofcriminalactsrelyontheelementofsurprise.Iftheyseethatyouarewatching
