A WELCOME FROM THE NORMANDY M.C.C.

It gives me great pleasure on behalf of the Normandy Motor Cycle Club of the

South Eastern Centre A.C.U. to welcome you to the 3rd

Ray Thomas Sidecar Trial.

Which is the last round of the 2017 A.C.U. Wessex Plant Hire (Bristol)

British Sidecar Trials Championship. Today’s event should be very interesting as

going into the event there is just 1yes 1 point between the first two places in the

Experts Championship so it’s whoever beats who will be the 2017 British Champions

at the moment it’s the Bristol pairing of Jon Tuck/Matt Sparkes ahead of last year’s

Champions Nigel Crellin/Chris Molyneax from the I.O.M. The Intermediate

Championship class has already been decided with William Caine/Beth Thomas taking

the honours. As has the Clubman and Newcomer classes with Damien Owen/

Gaz Temple and Matt Bond/Aleyn Taggart respectively taking the wins.

But the 2nd

and 3rd

places of the Inter and Clubman classes are still to be decided so it

should make for a good and enjoyable days sport all round.

Many events have been held here at ‘Sethern’ Including the Pre 65 Inter Centre Team

Trial in 2003, The Don Smith Memorial Trial in 2009, and the Ray Thomas Trial for

the last two years plus many Centre and Club Trials.

All held with the kind permission of the owners Roy and Lynne Enticknap.

Today’s event will consist of 2 laps of 18 sections per lap, with no time limit.

There will be a variety of sections from, Rocks, Rubble, Trees, Banks, Ditches,

And some good old fashioned Southern MUD. For those of you not familiar the

system of Marking will be TSR22B Non Stop. It will be good to see the Sidecars

here at Sethern and I am sure there is going to be a real tussle of a fight for the

Winners Rostrum with several local ‘crews’ taking part, and crews over from the

Isle of Man and all over the Country.

Let’s give them all the support and encouragement there so richly deserve.

There will be a presentation of Trophies to the Winners of each class at approximately

3-30pm, so grab yourself a cuppa and burger from Naughty but Nice catering and wait

to show your appreciation.

To ALL Competitors we hope you enjoy the day, and please remember the Officials

& Observers who have all given their time also want to enjoy the day, so please accept

their decisions and move on with the event.

I would like to thank everyone for supporting the event, Competitors, Sponsors,

Spectators, and especially the ‘Dedicated’ observers, helpers and Officials who

made the whole event possible.

Last but not least Roy & Lynne Enticknap for their valued assistance in the use off

their land for this event.

THANK YOU

Have a good Days Sport
