The NAD Science Textbook Review Committee, which met in June 2019, was composed of four secondary Science teachers and four Union secondary leaders. The committee considered textbooks from four publishers: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Kendall Hunt / Activate Learning, McGraw-Hill, and Pearson. Committee Observations:

• Customizable teaching resources (eBooks, labs, worksheets) and clearly defined differentiated instruction activities

• Interactive digital resources available on all platforms • Multilingual vocabulary • Textbooks are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) with some completely structured

around NGSS • Textbooks are available online or can be accessed through various eReader apps • Companies offer a wide range of online and digital resources • Support for teachers to use the provided resources
