Since 2005, served as an informal advisory group to State Board of Education and Lt. Gov./Gov. Perdue
Formally established in 2010 by Governor Perdue
Chaired by: Lt. Governor Walter Dalton Senator Richard Stevens Representative Joe Tolson
Membership: up to 30 individuals representing K-12, Community Colleges, University, businesses and community organizations

Make recommendations to the Governor regarding:1. Unified data system to improve educational,
economic, and other opportunities2. Making effective eLearning available K-20 and to all
citizens3. Revising state policies, rules or regulations to

enhance eLearning opportunities for NC citizens.
