Get involved and tell the government what you think!

The government wants to change how the money works for supported housing. They want to do this because they think that planning for supported housing should happen locally. They also want to do this so that it fits with Welfare Reform. The government's ideas are not very easy to understand so we have written a plain English version. You can find the plain English version and more information here. We will also hold members' consultation meetings on the following dates: 2pm-5pm, Tuesday 24th January 2017 - Bristol 9am-12pm, Wednesday 25th January - Manchester

For example Little Billing area in Northampton often puts on a live play using the local area shops instead of the traditional stable and inn and combines this with a carol concert. Other aspects of Christmas come from the pagan traditions of bringing pieces of evergreen trees into their house, lighting of fires and parties. These traditions were included with the Christian religions when missionaries converted inhabitants. People decorate their homes and garden these include Christmas trees, lights, holly trees and wreaths. In more recent times some homes are covered by lights and animations. And some larger churches also hold meals for the homeless in their halls or nearby community centres. Hospitals also stay open during the holiday. Food which is well known for this time of year are: roast turkey, Christmas pudding, Sweet pastry’s full of fruit, fat and alcohol, mince pies and Christmas Puddings. Many organisations and companies close down for the Christmas period. Trains stop for
