We like to promote a family environment with our Chevelle Club. I am
particularly reminded of this when I see your children moving onto the
next stages of their lives. I have invitations to graduation and weddings
already this year from club members. I was so happy to receive an invita-
tion for Kayla Muckleroy’s High School Graduation. The Chevelle Club
may have brought this wonderful family into my life, but it is the friend-
ships we have built over that last eight years that is very special to me. To
see Kayla grow into the nice young lady she has turned out to be is truly
astonishing. I was especially honored when Kayla asked me to write a
recommendation letter for the University of Toledo. She has worked as
my assistant at our Regional Chevelle Show for a few years, taking on a
number of assignments such as registration of attendees, counting bal-
lots, and determining award winners. She works well under the pressure
of running an extremely large event. She also volunteers her personal
time to work with children that attend our event on what we call kids’ cor-
ner. Kayla is just one example of the wonderful families I have met
through our Chevelle Club. Everyone knows that I am a Chevelle fanatic,
but I want you all to know that it doesn’t take that perfectly restored or
race ready Chevelle to impress me. I am most impressed with the mem-
bers who use this club as another avenue to bring their families together.
In order to continue our hobby, sometimes we need to look be-
yond the value of these Chevelles and con-
sider the joy and happiness they have
brought us through family and friends. Con-
gratulations to all of you who will celebrate
a special occasion this year and thank you
for being a part of my extended family.

Presidents Report By Ed Nichols
I have always thought of our club as more of a family
than just a club. We started out small and have grown
over the years. We have welcomed new people into our
family, there have been a few births that also helped
us grow and as in any family we have lost some to a
better place.
We have watched our children grow up, graduate from
school and/or get married, while some have moved
away. Most all of them have kept in contact either by
stopping by or using resources like Facebook and email.
Just like “family” when someone asks for help there is somebody there when needed. We have a lot
of knowledge and resources available to us throughout our members.
We have club picnics and outings that keep us in touch with each other. Every year some travel to
Chevelle-a-bration, while a trip to the Georgia regional show or Grand Island New York for the
CanAm show can be just as fun. There are a few members who go on the Power Tour and talk about
all year long!
Bottom line is when you can, be sure to join in on any club event and be part of our family!
Here are some photos of Kayla growing up with her Chevelle Family… Congrats!!

Treasures Report by Ken Smith
It’s the first of May gang. In just a little over 3 months, our show will be
here. It’s time to step up our efforts at attracting new sponsors, vendors
and advertisers for the show. The current roster of members is at 65. With
that in mind, if everyone brought in a sponsor, vendor or advertiser who
would contribute $250, we will reach our fundraising goal for the show
quite easily. We’re about 1/3 of the way there as of this writing, but I have to say that this has come
from the efforts of only a handful of people. A few others have things in the works, but the overall
participation isn’t as I had hoped. With that in mind, I can only encourage everyone to make an effort
to bring us in some sponsor, vendor or advertising monies.
We had a nice response from members regarding the Piston Power Show coming this October. 14
members stepped up and made a commitment to enter something into the show as a club display.
Future meetings will determine what exactly the theme for the display will be and what work will be
needed to accomplish that. So stay tuned…..
Entries for the show have been trickling in, and the number of early entries are pretty consistent
with what we’ve done in the past few years. Entries include folks from Georgia, Illinois, Maryland,
New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
That’s all for now, see you all at the spring get-together.

included Big Block Burgers, The Coke cooler was hit with all who attended. It was kept well
stocked throughout the show with adult beverages, pop, snacks, Amish cheese, sausage, and of
course Larry’s West Virginia Steak (thick cut Bologna).
Participants at this years’ show included Randy Taylor with his newly finished 69 ElCamino (1st place
in his class), Gary Webb and his 69SS hardtop (3rd place), Jim Umsted & his 66 SS Chevelle Converti-
ble, Donna Petrillo brought her 65 Malibu SS Cont (2nd place). Denny Kreider '64 300 won (1st place
in class '58-'67 restored) and also the I.S.C.A. award for Outstanding Interior-Restored. Randy Taylor
was first place “restored truck” and Bill Stark’s silver El Camino Custom got second place “restored
truck”.
Attendance was good both in the booth with members and with spectators enjoying the show. All in
all it was a good show and hopefully we can do it again next year with just as much success. From Mark Meldrum
The cars may be the stars of this show but we cant thank the people who put this display together enough.
We had people stopping out during the coldest part of this past winter working in Don Sitts warehouse
with no heat. Thank goodness it was a beautiful day when we transported the display to the IX Center.
The display went up so fast thanks to the excellent planning and the man/woman power we had that day.
After putting up the display on Wed, I stopped out at lunch time to put some final touches on Thursday. I
ended up staying the rest of the afternoon talking with club members and other Autorama participants. I
had to get my fill of the show early because it was off to China on Saturday for me. I could tell Friday
evening that the Chevelle display was the hit of the
show.

So it’s been a long time since I have written because to be honest with I was sick of reading my crap
just as much as you were. You all know that I have a bad luck when picking painters. This time I
know I found someone that not only knows what
he is doing but also takes pride in his work. I
dropped the Chevelle at Frank’s Auto Body on
April 7 and he is already informing me of the pro-
gress he’s making. What’s funny is that the car
was going to be painted by Frank two years ago
but his price was $1000 more than the guy. I no
longer mention the other guys name so let just say
I call him %&*()^%$*. Boy what a mistake that
was. I should have taken it to him anyway. So what
makes Frank so different from the rest….well,
Frank doesn’t want a dime until the car is done. He also put it in writing that the car will be done in 3
– 4 months. If this is correct I should be able to make the Northern Ohio Chevelle Show. I have
learned a lot in the last year and a half. I used to trust people and take them at their word but now I
will never do that again. Frank has been turning out award winning paint jobs for many years now.
His wife’s 1967 Mustang is winning all over the country. He won Best Paint at the 2011 Detroit Auto-
rama and Best in Class at the 2012 Cleveland
Autorama. I know I should not toot the horn
for a painter after all I have been through but
this time it’s different than the last time. He
actually told me that he gets most of his
muscle car/vintage car business from people
bringing their car to him to finish because an-
other painter botched the job. I spoke him to-
day and he was asking me where a few items
were and I said why do you need them right
now I’m sure the car will be sitting in the cor-
ner of his shop in 6 months collecting dust.
He said “this car will not be here in 6 months, I hope to have it out of here in 3 to be honest with
you”. That stunned me so I ended the conversation so he could get back to work. I will keep every-
one updated in the upcoming months.

Many of the members of NOCC are on Face-
book… Here are some memorable quotes I saw
this month.
Joe Desmont Got some work done on the Shag-
gin Wagon, deadline is fast approaching. Got the floors done, as well as the couple of area's that
needed attention. Thanks Limo Johnny and Ricky. The windows get done on Saturday.
Andre Stephens
Custom making a metal center console for the Chevelle that will not only house my 7" entertainment
center but will also double as my electronics center. My ECM, TCM, Tach Pulse generator, and Gauge
Cluster Control module will all be inside. Going for the ultra clean look....
Gerry Lorkowski
Well I have been ooc for about two month's, back to see another doc on may 7th. Should have my
neck fusion shortly after the 7th, herniated disc in my neck has my arms about shut down. Hands are
totally numb and tingle all the time. The rehab will be ruff but man I can't wait to feel better.
George Kelovsky
It's officially Spring, I had a beer on the mower.
Kathy Green Ely
Mike and Sean had a cupcake and shaving cream fight on Saturday before Easter, and Sean pulled a
towel out of Mike's hand and it must have wrapped around the finger and the finger snapped. It was
not healing and it was getting worse, they had to put a coupe pins in it.
Beth Stelmasczuk Mills
Last month in Cleveland we had a streak of days in the 80's...Now we are under a storm warn-
ing.....Wait for it.....with over 6" of
snow do!!!! Who is the joker that
came up with that weather for-
cast!!
Matt Fralick
Although my kids are too young to
really appreciate cars "to the ex-
tent that I do", I must say, their
eyes light up when the have the
chance to go for a ride, even if just
around the block for a bit. I do al-
ways get told though "Don't get a
speeding ticket Daddy".
