What a Typical University of Maryland Freshman Looks Like (2009)

University of Maryland expects all applicants, at a MINIMUM, to have completed the following course work:

4 years of English4 yrs. of Math, Alg. 1 & 2, Geometry3 yrs. of Science in 2 areas, min. 2 labs3 yrs. of History or Social Science2 yrs. of Foreign Language

Successful applicants typically exceed the minimum and include several honors and/or AP courses.

Enrolling in math courses all 4 years of high school is strongly recommended and taking at least 3 years of a Foreign Language.
