Project Outputs
1. General management capacity increased
at central and local levels, so that biodiversity within and outside 20 PAs can be
managed in line with the CBD.
2. Improved management of valuable wetlands
in accordance with the Ramsar Convention.
3. Knowledge of biodiversity in six protected areas improved
to support development of monitoring plans.
4. Overall management in selected protected areas strengthened
including awareness raising, stakeholder involvement and cross sector cooperation
to support development of management plans.
Expected to have the project outcomes through the delivery of the following four
outputs:

4. Deviations from the Work Plans
▪ Activities are running according to the agreed Project Work Plans
▪ No major deviations are identified.
▪ No new M.Sc. students could start at NTNU on August 2017 as they did not pass
the English language exam.

▪ English skill of the PA staff
Challenges
• The most effective project out of all the projects jointly being implemented with I/NGOS
• Project fund can be used effectively/directly to on-ground project implementation with the
less personal and travel cost
• Capacity of PAs staff has been improved while they themselves participate in the
management planning process (eg. Moeyungyi)
