Dunning Elementary School We believe that outdoor recess is an important part of our students’ days. We will have outdoor recess on most days, however there may be days when the students go out for an abbreviated time. If the weather is deemed too cold, students will have an indoor recess. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for these cold days, including hats, boots, snow pants, warm jackets and gloves or mittens. It is helpful to label all coats, gloves, hats, scarves, etc., as these items frequently get lost. Also, please check out the Lost and Found for missing items.

While it may be hard to believe, spring IS just

around the corner, and with spring comes

MCAS testing.

Testing will begin Monday, April 2nd

. We will

be testing each morning on the testing days. It

is important for all students to be in

attendance and ON TIME.

As always, thank you for your involvement and

support in your child’s education and growth.

CLUBS

Notices went home in backpacks today. There

was an overwhelming response resulting in

some students not getting into specific

clubs. There will be another round of clubs in

the spring and students who did not get into a

club will have first priority.

Included in this newsletter is a list of of

donations that would be greatly appreciated by

the volunteers running the clubs.

Hello Dunning Community!

As we about to begin the Before and After School Clubs at Dunning Elementary, we are

looking for donations to help run the clubs. Below are a list of donations that would be greatly

appreciated by the volunteers running the clubs:

the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy about exSEL: Excellence

through Social-Emotional Learning, a network bringing together school districts across

Massachusetts to design and implement policies and practices that promote social-

emotional learning (SEL).

The project is led by the exSEL Coalition, whose members include the Massachusetts

Association of School Committees, Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents,

Massachusetts Organization of Educational Collaboratives and Massachusetts School

Administrators Association. The exSEL Coalition's non-profit partners, the Rennie Center

and Teachers 21, provide expertise, support and training for the network.
