Buddies is a friendship group for single, divorced, or widowed members. We also welcome those with spousal caring duties who maybe in need of an
informal occasional social outlet. It is a means of making friends and taking part in activities which are
more pleasant in company. Members can make friends and are free to arrange activities between
themselves, such as cinema visits, meeting for coffee, going for a walk, shopping, pub quiz etc.
We also periodically arrange various activities and outings.
Anyone interested please contact Jo Wilson [email protected]

New Potential Group.
Can you strum, plonk, pluck, blow, bow or thump? If you can sing as well, great.
Are there any instrumentalists out there who would enjoy playing regularly with others? Initially we will be playing just amongst ourselves, possibly in
due course occasionally for audiences at U3A social events, or for seniors in residential homes etc.
The music we play will depend on your abilities and tastes. You don’t need to be concert standard, nor able to read music. I myself am an
experienced but limited guitar strummer. I play pop and folk- anything as long as I can figure out the chords.
If you are just learning the guitar, don’t be bashful please come forward. If needed , we can set up a guitar learners’ group to help you up to a
reasonable playing standard. If you are interested, please contact [email protected] then we will get back to you and set up an initial meeting- hopefully in the second
half of November. Steve Degnan

Calling all instrumentalists!Great News! We plan to restart “Singing For Fun” after Christmas.
Thank you to Steve Degnan for volunteering to take on the role of lead facilitator and session organiser.
Steve plays guitar, but we ideally need one or two more musicians to help lead the singing. A keyboard player would be great, and a percussionist, but
we will consider any instrumentalist. And you can help with the singing as well if you wish.
The repertoire will be typical sing along stuff- folk and trad and 50s/60s/70s pop- but we can tweak that to suit your taste.
Steve has chord song sheets, but we can source sheet music if you need it.If this might be of interest to you, please contact
[email protected] we can arrange a meet up and jam session and decide how to
proceed. For all budding singers who have not yet joined Singing for Fun, and would like to be added to the group membership list, to be kept up to date with
progress towards reopening, please use the same contact email.Anne Pinnock- Joint Groups Coordinator
