Thesis: Parallel Implementation of Pair wise and Multiple Genome Sequence Alignment in Grid Environment
• Worked as a Research Assistant on NMI Intra Testbed Grid project, funded by NSF. The goal is to use the
Grid using the Globus Toolkit 3.0 exploring the different features
• The research work includes exploring the Grid environment for computation intensive bioinformatics
applications and comparison with the other existing distributed environments.
• Two separate applications – A pair wise sequence alignment algorithm and a multiple sequence alignment
algorithm have been designed, implemented in the Grid environment and their performances have been compared with the shared memory and cluster computing environment.
