BENEFITS OF OUR SERVICES
• Constructability Analysis: The BIM modeling process highlights potential problems in project’s
design and identifies missing information in the construction documents. The list of problems
identified is provided to the project team in a discrepancy report. Elimination of these errors
has been proven to reduce project cost by 2-3% savings in constructability issues.
• Communication: The BIM model connects the design to both the cost and time aspects of the
project. It is the ideal tool to communicate project status and issues to all project stakeholders.
Usage of the model for communication purposes ranges from high level meetings with the
project stakeholders, to detailed planning meetings with individual subcontractors, foremen,
and site staff.
• Cost Planning: The BIM model produces highly accurate material quantities, which are
combined with a company database to rapidly create the project estimate. Once the project
estimate has been processed, the time required to update it based on design changes is
dramatically reduced. Additionally, the project team can use the graphical tools included with
the system to communicate the estimate and the variance to either the initial budget or
previous estimates to all project stakeholders. Construction companies can achieve 3% - 5%
savings utilizing the full solution, that includes better estimating data for negotiations and a
schedule plan with reduced labor

BIM PROJECTS PORTFOLIO
ANGELIER HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT, CANADA
The project was based at an isolated location in Northern
Canada. The client was an independent developer bidding
on the right to supply power to the government at a fixed
rate. The problem facing the developer was that he had to
provide a firm fixed rate for power supplied, without the
completed engineering drawings and to do so within a
three week period. Because of the limited information
provided and the short time period, there would be
insufficient time to complete the engineering drawings and
procure detailed proposals or quotations from contractors
and material suppliers. NovaCITYNETS was engaged by the
Project consultant to provide a high level estimate, within
the tight time scale utilising BIM technology. Using Model Based Estimating methodology to calculate the
quantities and prepare the estimate, the client was able to reduce their project contingency with total
confidence and submit their proposal within three weeks. As a result they were successful in procuring the
contract
WHITE RIVER HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT, CANADA
NovaCITYNETS’s BIM team sucessfully utilising Model based Estimating to reduce project contingency for this
hydroelectric project. From the 2D DWG drawings given by the consultants, the BIM team created a high
standard 3D BIM which volumes of the various excavated materials, concrete quantities, form-work surface
areas, building areas, building cladding areas, roof areas and building finishing quantities, were automatically
generated from the model.
THE REFLECTIONS@KEPPEL BAY PROJECT, SINGAPORE
This iconic luxurious waterfront living development located at
Keppel Bay in Singapore, features six high-rise glass-facade towers
of 24 and 41-storeys, 11 spacious 6 to 8-storey villas and two
complexly designed clubhouses surrounded by 100,000 sq ft
reflective pool which also skirting the towers and villas. Each tower
is topped with sky gardens on a sloping roof lines. Sky bridges
connecting each pair of towers, providing pocket platforms of open
spaces above the ground to appreciate the panoramic view of
Singapore skyline and the surrounding sea.
NovaCITYNETS’s BIM team was engaged by the main contractor to
use BIM models and parametric simulation to resolve setting out &
site co-ordination problem due to complex geometry. With the use
of BIM and adopting an industrial standards know as Industry
Foundation Classes (IFC) for interoperability to promote
collaboration between disciplines, the contractor is able to resolve
incompatitility problems caused by different CAD softwares issued by different subcontractors.
