Free Meet and Greet: If you’re unsure as to which program would best suit your dog, call us to schedule a free 15 minute meet and greet. This gives you the opportunity to meet us in person and see our beautiful facility first hand. During which, we can learn more about you and your needs and conduct an assessment of your dog.




Board and Train

Training a puppy or a dog takes a lot of time and patience. Busy families and professionals don’t always have the time, patience or the experience to train their own dog. Plus, you want your dog trained the right way, the first time.

Here’s the solution! Have Michael and his personally trained staff train your dog for you via one of our board and train programs:

K9 PhD is the degree for service dogs (PTSD, Diabetic Alert, Mobility, etc.), bite development for protection sport dogs, focused heeling for competition dogs or

those who want similar stellar obedience. Receive: 6 weeks of board and train, training handouts, training equipment and unlimited Perfect Practice group classes for your dog’s life time, $5995.00.

K9 University results in off-leash reliability and/or is good for those who have behavioral problems and need to build confidence as part of their training program. Receive: 4 weeks board and train, training handouts, remote training collar and unlimited Perfect Practice group classes for your dog’s lifetime, $4995.00.

K9 College prepares a dog to start working off-leash. Receive: 3 weeks board and train, training handouts, remote training collar and 2 months of Perfect Practice group classes, $3495.00.

K9 Prep School results in excellent on leash obedience. Receive: 2 weeks board and train, training handouts, remote training collar and 1 month of Perfect Practice group classes, $2495.00.

Training occurs in real world distractions (downtown Plymouth and beautiful park locations) during the morning/afternoon/evenings during the week, weekends and on holidays. Additionally, your dog will receive lots of loving care, daily walks and fun play times with other dogs. Dogs are monitored 24/7.




Day and Night School

Dog Day School is like board and train without the boarding. Training a puppy or a dog takes a lot of time and patience. Busy families and professionals don’t always have the time, patience or the experience to train their own dog. Plus, you want your dog trained the right way, the first time. Here’s the solution! Have Michael and his personally trained staff train your dog for you via our Day School or Night School programs.

Day School: Drop your dog off to us in the morning (Monday-Friday) between 6:30-9:00am. Then pick up your trained and tired dog between 4:30-6:00pm.

Night School: Drop your dog off to us in the afternoon (Monday-Friday). Then pick up your trained and tired dog in the evening.

K9 University typically results in off leash reliability and/or to address behavioral challenges. Receive: 6 weeks of training, training handouts, remote training collar, private take home lesson and unlimited Perfect Practice group classes for the lifetime of your dog. $3895.00

K9 College results in working toward off leash reliability. Receive: 4 weeks of training, training handouts, remote training collar, semi-private take home lesson and 2 months of Perfect Practice group classes. $2795.00

K9 Prep School results in excellent on leash obedience. Receive: 2 weeks of training, training handouts, remote training collar, semi-private take home lesson and 1 month of Perfect Practice group classes. $1795.00

Day/Night School is a very popular program because your dog receives training and goes home with you each day/night. *Adjustments in the days of training can be made for those who don’t have a typical Sat/Sun off .




In Home Dog Training

Michael Burkey is available to provide you with in-home dog training and behavior modification where the majority of your dog’s behavior problems occur. One on one coaching is most beneficial if you want to be involved in the training of your dog, if your dog cannot presently be handled by a stranger due to aggression, if you desire quicker results as your training program is matched to you and your dog’s needs, have more than one dog to be trained, have busy work and family schedules

that precludes you from attending private on site lessons or group classes and if you want a behavior expert help you train your dog the right way, the first time in the convenience of your home.

Appointments are available on weekdays and Saturdays, scheduled at your convenience.

1 session Initial consultation and training and $395.00 (within training handouts 40 minute drive of Plymouth)

2 sessions Initial plus a follow up session, training $995.00 handouts and a remote training collar

4 sessions Initial plus 3 more sessions, training $1695.00 handouts and a remote training collar

* If a remote collar isn’t used, then $200 is subtracted from program prices.




Private Dog Training at MDT

One on one coaching is most beneficial if you want to be involved in the training of your dog, if your dog cannot presently be handled by a stranger due to aggression, if you desire quicker results as your training program is matched to you and your dog’s needs, have more than one dog to be trained, have busy work and family schedules and if you want a behavior expert help you train your dog the right way, the first time. If your dog exhibits fearful and/or aggressive tendencies toward other dogs, then private training at MDT provides you with the availability of Michael Burkey’s dogs to be part of the training process.

The first appointment is scheduled with Michael Burkey during week days or on Saturdays. At the end of that session you can either pay for that one session or instead choose to purchase a program that includes several bonuses. Additionally, you can elect to do the follow up sessions with Michael or one of his personally certified trainers who are available weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

1 session Initial consultation and training $195 with Michael

2 sessions Initial session plus a follow up training session $745 w/ Michael or

VIP Day / Night Care

Our VIP (Very Important Pet) Dog Day Care is an enhanced version of doggie day care. In our program, they

▪ Practice their obedience commands

▪ Enjoy neighborhood walks as well as treadmill runs

▪ Enjoy fun play sessions with other dogs

▪ Receive lots of loving attention from staff

Your dog can attend the VIP Day Care program Monday through Sunday. Normal drop off time is between 6:30-9:00am M-F (7:30-9:00am Saturday and Sunday) and pick up is between

4:30-6:00pm. The VIP Night Care is the same program but developed for owners who work afternoon shifts. Use your sessions as desired during a six month time frame.

Dogs must be current on their vaccinations (Rabies, DHLLP, and Bordetella) and have had a negative fecal check within the last six months. This is a great program for keeping your dog or puppy active and well socialized. It also helps you with the potty training a new puppy. Pups can enter the program at 10 weeks of age after receiving their second puppy shot.

VIP fees are:

$35 per day, pay as you go or

$300 for 10 sessions ($50 savings)

$400 for 20 sessions ($300 savings) Maize




Home Away from Home (boarding) Do you have a pending vacation or business trip and need a Home Away from Home (HAH) for your dog? Then let Michigan Dog Training (MDT) personally care for your dog. Your dog will stay at MDT, a climate controlled, 24/7 monitored clean facility and receive lots of loving care, daily walks and/or fun play times with the other dogs. We treat your dog as if one of our own.

The HAH stay is only $40 per day ($50.00 during holidays) payable in full via check, credit card (Visa,

Master Card or Discover) or cash at the start of their stay.

To be eligible, your dog must be: 1. Friendly with people and manageable around other dogs as well as potty and crate trained and 2. They must be up to date on vaccinations, be on flea preventative March – November and be parasite free. Please provide a copy of your dog’s vaccination records and confirmation of a negative fecal check (conducted within six months of boarding).

Home Away From Home “PLUS” If desired, you can also upgrade your dog’s stay by enrolling him or her in the HOME AWAY FROM HOME “PLUS” which is for dogs who have previously completed our four week K9 University or six week Day School. This program is only $80.00 per day ($90.00 per day over Holidays) and dogs receive the same personalized training time as dogs enrolled in the full featured University program at a reduced price. If your dog previously completed something less than the K9 University and you want training during their stay, we’ll upgrade you to the appropriate training program to give you that discounted rate.

Complimentary Bath For stays lasting seven or more days, your dog will receive a complimentary bath and manual air blow dry prior to departure date. For stays of six days or less, you can elect to have your dog bathed and manually air blow dried for just $20 for medium and large size dogs and just $15.00 for small dogs.
